And even though my arm swelled, and my body ached.
This was just what I needed.

Chaeyoung POV.
I sprinted when I heard Jennie scream; Jungkook following behind me.
We were both scared.
I slowed down to a stop once I saw Lalisa and a red haired guy at the destroyed entrance of the bridge.
Lisa was arguing with him and he was gripping onto her wrist firmly.
They both instantly turned around after hearing Jungkook and I's footsteps.
"Chaeyoung!" Lisa cried and embraced me tightly, I hugged back relieved my maknae was safe.
Jungkook and the red headed man made eye contact, I could see their faces relax at the sight of each other.
As soon as Lisa and I broke from our hug, a loud yell came from the completely destroyed bridge.
"Hoseok!"
We all turned to the sound. In the distance, I could see the silhouette of a man standing on the broken remainders of Naksan bridge, almost halfway to the other side.
"Namjoon!" The red headed man next to Lisa, who I assumed was Hoseok responded.
"I need help hyung!" The silhouette on the bridge shouted from afar.
Hoseok turned to look at Jungkook, quickly asking him to come along as well. Jungkook nodded and began to step onto the first wooden plank of the bridge, Hoseok beginning to walk also.
"Hoseok oppa!" Lisa cried, her face full of worry and anxiousness. "I'm coming too!"
Hoseok stopped, turned back around, and silently stepped towards Lisa. Since he was taller, he looked down to her and they locked eyes.
"Stay here. Everything will be fine." He gently sighed. "Jennie-" began Lisa, but Hoseok cut her off.
"Please Lalisa. Just stay here." The blonde stayed silent and I suddenly felt like a third wheel.
Hoseok gave Lisa and I one last look before following Jungkook towards the bridge.
As the guys got further, I wondered why Jungkook hadn't met my eyes.
Was it because I had told him about Chanyeol?
"Petition to disobey Hoseok and go find Jennie?" Lisa suddenly asked, as she raised her right arm.
Just as I was about to answer, a confused female voice spoke behind us.
"What's going on?"
Lisa and I spun around.
Jisoo and Kira appeared with three boys behind them, one of them I recognized from the mall.
"Jisoo, Kira!" Lisa cried and quickly engulfed them in a warm hug. I went over as well, happy to see familiar faces.
"Lalisa what's going on?" Jisoo asked , puzzled.
The girls broke the hug and I bowed to the other guys.
"Annyeonghaseyo!" I greeted and motioned for Lisa to do the same.
The guys smiled and bowed back.
Kira turned to me, wanting answers too. "What happened? You guys look terrified!" She raised one of her perfect eyebrows in question.
I bit my lip. "I'm actually confused myself. But-"
"But?" Jisoo asked again, looking more worried by the second.
Lisa moved aside and pointed to the wreckage behind us.
The newcomers viewed the bridge and I heard several gasps.
"Where's Jungkook?" one of the three guys asked, panicking. He was a blonde and a bit short, with smooth skin and defined cheekbones.
Lisa motioned towards the bridge for a second time. "All the guys are on the bridge right now."
"What happened?" This time another male asked, he had broad shoulders, dark hair, and perfect features.
Lisa's brown eyes went wide, as if she were recalling a bad memory. "W-we were walking back to find you guys and..."
Everyone's attention was on the blonde maknae.
"There was some sort of explosion." Her voice cracked as she began to cry, "Jennie unnie and Yoongi were still on the bridge when it happened!"
Kira's hand flew to her mouth, the boys looked terrified, but Jisoo however stood frozen.
I felt my skin go pale in fear. Was Jennie alright?
"Namjoon went out on the bridge first, Hoseok and Jungkook just went to help him! I-i, don't know if Jennie and Yoongi are ok!" Lisa ended her short story with heavy breaths and tears falling down her face.
A sob escaped my throat after she finished, "omy god.." I gasped, my voice strained.
The eerie silence was then interrupted by a high pitched scream. "YOONGI!"
All of us snapped our heads in the voice's direction.
"Is that-" began Kira.
"JENNIE!" Yelled Lisa.
Just hearing the name of their hyung, the boys looked as if they were about to head for the bridge, but before they could, a whir of black hair raced past us.
Jisoo had taken off and was starting to travel down the broken wooden bridge, faster than I had ever seen someone run in my entire life.
Kira, Lisa, and I sprinted towards the bridge as well, not waiting for any of the guys.
We jumped from one piece of wood to the other, being careful not to fall.
My breathing was heavy and my long dark hair flew wildly in the air, causing me to have to push it back every five seconds.
I eventually heard footsteps behind me and knew it was the boys catching up.
But the only thought piercing through my head was Jennie.
My best friend.
