"I came here to meet Z," I tell the man standing in front of me, "not his representative."

"His?" he seems confused for a moment, "Oh, yeah. Well he is busy at the moment so I was sent to discuss some things with you," he replies.

I can't believe this. I finally get a chance to find out who this crazy stalker is, only to end up with his representative. Unfortunately for him, I can be very stubborn at times.

"I want to speak with Z, not you," I say, not paying much attention to the harshness in my voice.

"I apologize, but that can't be arranged anytime soon. I'm still here though..." he tries to muster a smile, but fails when he notices my irritated scowl.

"Can you at least tell me your name?" I ask.

"Of course. My name is Ethan," he says.

"All right Ethan, first of all, I want to know why Z is stalking me," I back up and lean against a tree.

"It isn't stalking," he frowns.

I scoff. "Yes it is. Leaving random notes and figuring out where I live and where I go is definitely called stalking."

"No," he denies. "It's just...observing."

I don't say anything and just wait for him to answer my original question. When he notices my silence, he continues. "As you may know, Z needs something that you have."

"Really? I thought stalking innocent teenage girls is just his hobby," I roll my eyes.

"Your sarcasm isn't getting you anywhere."

"Just tell me already."

"Fine, th-" he stops abruptly and his eyes widen as he stares at my chest. I subconsciously cross my arms over my chest.

"Hey!" I snap. "Eyes up here, buddy," I point to my face.

"No, no. It's just- your locket," he says, his eyes staying glue to the piece of jewelry.

I look down at it then lift my head and ask, "What about it?"

Ethan doesn't answer me. Instead, he reaches his hand out to it. For some reason, I don't move away from him. I silently watch his actions as he leans forward. When his fingers are a mere inches away from my locket, a shout in the distance stops him.

"No! Mak! Don't let him touch the locket!" I know that voice. It's Cody's voice. I turn to my left to see three people coming towards us. I recognize Cody and Ryan, but not the bulky-looking guy standing in between them. He is tall with a bald head and is dressed in all black. His face shows no sign of any emotion whatsoever.

I immediately run towards them.

"What happened to you guys?" I ask my friends.

Ryan glances at Ethan, who is standing behind me, before opening his mouth and closing it like he's trying to say something, but it won't come out.
