"Oh great, here comes trouble." Hank grumbled, looking up. Markus followed his gaze to see a grumpy–looking man with dark, shaggy hair, and grey stubble approach the android Hank called Charlie."Anderson, did you not hear what I said?! Stop bringing fucking toastets here!" Gavin Reed barked out, shoving Charlie's shoulder.
Both Hank and Markus frowned, about to interfere, but Alex held his hand up in their direction; signalling for them to stay where they were. Markus and Hank shared a look.
"I apologize that my programming and existence cause you inconvenience, but I do not plan on resorting to desperate measures to suit your unimportant needs." Hank stifled a snort at the undertone of sass in his otherwise calm tone and the words that opposed said tone.
"Now, in the words of Hank Anderson...fuck off."
Markus and Hank—and half the precinct, gaped at him as he walked back to his desk, raking a hand through his unusually disheveled hair.
Markus found himself unable to look away from him again, for reasons he still couldn't decipher.
Charlie was attractive, he knew that much. But it had to be something else. It was kind of attractive to see him cuss out someone who seemed to be a dick, but Markus knew that couldn't just be it.
He was soon snapped out of his own thoughts when Charlie started to walk over, and he started to internally panic.
"I apologize for my...behaviour. That was a bit inappropriate." His apology was mostly geared towards Hank, who took him by surprise by laughing.
"Don't apologize, kid. Don't ever apologize for cussing out Reed, he's an asshole." Hank chuckled.
"I noticed." He hummed before he turned to Markus.
"I don't think we've properly met; I'm Charlie," Charlie did his best to smile as he held out a hand for Markus to shake. Markus shook it as a smile of his own came to his face.
"I'm Markus, it's a pleasure to meet you."
Hank scoffed, rolling his eyes as he turned his attention to the terminal at his desk.
"Get a goddamn room."
