"Hank! Hank! I need to borrow your car!"The entire station's attention was grabbed by Charlie, who had sprinted through the entrance and to Hank's desk; disregarding the stares he received.
His hands were on said desk, and he looked as though he had run the entire way there; since his hair was incredibly dishevelled and he was covered in snow.
Hank raised a brow as he stared at the frantic android, slightly aghast.
"Why do you need my car?" He asked incredulously, slightly amused but also concerned. He watched as Charlie pulled something out of his pocket, placing it on Hank's desk.
It was a photo. A photo of Jodie's son. Hank looked between the photo and him a few times, trying to understand what Charlie was hinting at. But then it hit him.
"Fucking hell..." he didn't say anything else; knowing that it was best to save the rest of the conversation for later, when they had privacy. So, with shaky hands, he passed the keys over and received a grateful smile.
Once he had left, Hank leaned back in his seat, running a hand down his now-pale face.
"Can't believe it..."
Jodie wiped at her eyes as she made for the front door, wanting to be presentable for whatever person had decided to come to her door unexpectedly.
She had seen in the news that the Ripper had been identified and killed, meaning her reign of terror was finally over. It brought Jodie some comfort, although it wouldn't bring her son back.
Opening the door, she was surprised to see the android that had come to question her. Charlie; his name was. Named after her son. She sniffled, wiping at her puffy eyes once more.
"Oh, erm...hey. I heard about the Ripper, and how you brought her down. Thanks for that, really." She shifted uncomfortably under his gaze, one that seemed to hold much more emotion than the last time she had met him.
He fished something out from his pocket and handed it to her. It nearly caused her to start crying again. It was a photo of her and her son. A photo she had no idea existed, taken with an old Polaroid camera that he had owned. It was taken the day of his disappearance; during their visit to the park.
"Thank y—" he shook his head, cutting her off, and flipped the photo over. There was something written on the back in sharpie. It looked recent.
"It's me."
Jodie froze, slowly looking back up at Charlie; who looked somewhat sheepish as he wrung his hands, looking at the ground. He brought his gaze back up to hers, grinning nervously at the look on her face.
"Hi, mom."
