KX had been silent during the ride to the police station.

Hell, he was silent when he got there. He hadn't spoken a word since the incident at Todd's house. One would call it 'trauma.' Of course, an android, unless deviant or deviating, couldn't be traumatized. Or at least, that was the idea.

Currently, one of android employees at the station was helping with his shoulder. It was an on-site medical android. Well, nurse, sort of. The android chose to work there. She was also worried for KX, despite not knowing him. There was still a splatter of Todd's blood on his face, which made it worse.

That's why Markus felt so sympathetic when he saw him.

He had been called into the station by Connor, who convinced him to assist with the case. Markus was walking around the station, familiarizing himself with it, when he stumbled across the med-room. At least, the window.

He saw KX sitting there, staring at the floor with an unwavering gaze as a nurse worked to clean up his arm, the bullet having been removed. He wasn't sure why, but Markus knew immediately that KX was not a sentient android, but didn't act like the androids when they still followed their programming.

He wasn't sure why he reacted the way he did when KX looked up and locked eyes with him. He wasn't sure why he froze up and felt paralyzed, and why he couldn't tear his eyes away. It was all very strange. There was just something about his eyes, something he couldn't place; and it frightened him a little.

"How are you doing, kid?" Hank asked as KX approached his desk.

"I suppose I'm alright, Hank. Thank you." KX attempted a tight-lipped smile, which ended up being both endearing and awkward. There was a pause, before Hank spoke again.

"We've gotta give you a name, kid."

KX tilted his head at the sudden statement, not entirely sure how to react to the spontaneous change of subject.

"A...name?" He inquired slowly. Hank nodded absently as he seemed to be lost in his own thoughts; likely trying to think of a name. He suddenly snapped out of it, a tiny smile on his face.

"Charlie."

"Pardon?" Hank's smile grew.

"We'll call you Charlie. If you want. Do you like it, or do you want a different name?" He asked, watching the way KX's expression morphed, as he gave Hank a real (attempt at a) smile. The first smile he had seen from him.

"I like that."
