HATE (Taemin fanfic)

Chapter 16

Jaeun placed her hand onto her stomach and stared wide-eyed at Taemin. The male was beginning to worry about the sudden shocked face she had made. "I- Is something wrong?" he stuttered and bit his lip. He gently grabbed onto her and turned her more towards him. What if she was hurt? What if the baby was hurt!? All those thoughts were rushing through his mind as he awaited an answer.

"I think it kicked...!"

Jaeun's shocked face slowly but surely grew into a wide smile, and Taemin breathed out a sigh in relief that it wasn't anything bad. It soon hit him what she had said though, and his eyes widened aswell. "K- kicked?!" he said in a hushed tone. He pointed to her stomach as if to ask her if it's ok to touch it. The female nodded slightly and moved his hand to where she had felt it. It was at this point that it hit her... she was actually going to be a mother!

Taemin shrieked in shock when he felt a small kick against his hand, which made Jaeun quickly cover his mouth. "Geez, don't be so loud. the othe-" before she could even finish her sentence, they heard several small knocks on the door before it opened to reveal the other four SHINee members. "..." Looking at them, Jaeun raised an eyebrow. "Yes?" Their gazes slowly moved to Taemin's hand that was on Jaeun's stomach. "Why did Taemin scream like that? Is he okay? Are you okay?" Onew asked in a soft voice as if not to disturb them, even if that was what they were already doing.

"Um, we're both o-" Jaeun began. "The baby is kicking!" Taemin exclaimed and jumped up to hug his members. Jaeun groaned, crossing her legs. If she knew the others correctly, they would end up being all excited, and would also touch her stomach. And just as she thought, the other's moved closer and gently placed their hands, one after the other onto Jaeun. It was truly a comical sight. They were all acting like children. But... it was nice in a way. She would've never thought that she would be able to get friends like these, and  husband like that. It honestly felt like a dream.

The whole thing may have seemed like a curse at first, but it was quickly turning into a blessing.

"Wow!" Jonghyun said. He soon leaned his head down to listen closer. "Yah! you guys are acting so weirdly-!" Jaeun suddenly exclaimed and started gently pushing everyone away. There were boundaries to how much she could endure. "Ah, sorry sorry. None of us are used to anything like this. And to think that our Taemin made that... It's just so weird!" Minho whispered and backed away to give Jaeun some space. 

"Anyways... I think that I want to nap for a while." She finally said, and started hushing everyone out of the room, even Taemin.

Taemin and the others had walked into the living room to sit there, and most likely talk. There was a lot going on afterall. "So... Jaeun's due date. It's in February, right?" Jonghyun asked, as to which Taemin nodded. "We have our Tokyo Dome concert in February. We'll also start preparing for a comeback. Does she know about all this? What if we're in Japan when she goes into labour?" 

"Um, I don't know. I haven't even thought that far." He mumbled. If Jaeun would go into labour, he was sure that he needed to be there for her. Not only is it painful, he had also heard that it's really emotionally draining. "I'll have to think about it. Jaeun told me that her doctor told her that due dates often change though. What if it changes? Worst case scenario is probably that I'll have to go back to Korea from Japan." The others nodded along. The only problem Taemin saw with going BACK to Korea, was how he would explain that to the fans. He couldn't say that it's because of an injury... because there's obviously hospitals in Japan. A family emergency? Personal reasons? 

It wasn't something he needed to worry about yet though. There was still time.

Jaeun awoke a few hours later, obviously confused. It was one of those naps that leave you wondering where you are, and how long you've slept for. Now that she had felt the baby kick, she knew what it felt like. They were gentle, almost like butterflies. 

After a while of just sitting there, on the bed, she decided to finally stand up. Her mouth was dry, so she wanted to go get something to drink. As she was about to open the door, she was met with Taemin doing the same. "Oh, you're awake?" he said and smiled, wrapping her in a hug. Taemin had become so clingy... it was so weird. "Yeah, I'm awake. Ah, I'm so thirsty." She whined. Taemin couldn't bring himself to tell her what he and the others had discussed yet. He gently wrapped his arm around her waist, and led her to the kitchen. "What's with you being so touchy all of a sudden? Did you do something wrong?"

Jaeun walked over to the counter once Taemin let go, and got herself a nice and cold glass of water. "No reason." He said and shrugged. When he said that, Jaeun really got suspicious. "... No reason?" She narrowed her eyes and frowned. "There's obviously a reason why you just randomly wrap your arm around me. There was a reason why you hugged me earlier, so why is there suddenly 'no reason'?" Her voice was shaking slightly. She didn't mean to sound angry... it just happened.

"Geez, why are you so angry about it?!" Taemin finally snapped and quickly covered his mouth in horror. "Did- did you just do what I think you did?! You snapped at me! Why are you snapping at me?!" 

Taemin was at loss for what to do. She was furious. But for what? He hadn't yelled at her or anything. She was the one who had started prying things out of him!

So... what should he do now?
