It was quiet, a little bit too quiet. I shoot open my eyes and looked around. I was in a hospital bed. There were some kind of infusion in my arm. I sat up and looked around.
There is no one, a man came up to me and grabbed my shoulders. "Everything is fine, you're in a hospital. You are safe." He told me in a soft voice. I just stared at him. "Where am I? Who are you? And. What happens?" I asked the unknown guy in front of me. "That's a lot of questions. My name is James Buchanan Barnes, but everyone just calls me Barnes.and you are at the hospital tent" He said and sat onto a chair that stood right next to my bed.
"Okay, Barnes What happened?" I asked him again. "You had a knife in your left leg and lost a lot of blood wich led you to faint." I looked down to my leg that was covered with a blanket. I threw the blanket on the other side and looked at the bandage. Now everything that happen yesterday shoot back up into my mind. I started to panic and ripped the needle out of my arm. Barnes shoot up from his chair and grabbed my arm. "What the heck are you doing?" He asked. "I'm leaving, I'm a woman. I'm not allowed to be here. I'm so dead!" I said. I wanted to stand up but couldn't. A sharp pain was running through my leg. I fell back onto the bed.
"You're not dead." He told me. I turned around and look up to him. "How do you know?" I asked him confused. "I talked to General Phillips and told him what heroic deeds you brought us. And he was amazed. He wants to see you." He told me. I was confused and I think he saw that, because he just started laughing. "Also what is even you name?" He asked me. "Evangeline Jennar" I told him. He then stood up and walked away. "We will see us again Evangeline Jennar." He said and smiled. I just laid back onto my bed stared up to the tents ceiling .

Nervous was the feeling I had when I thought about the talk I'm going to have with the general.

I must have been day dreaming, because suddenly a nurse stood in front of me. "Excuse me miss, but we need to change the bandage. Could you help me?" She waved a hand in front of my face and I focused on her. I nodded and sat up. I lifted my leg and she took the bandage of. And I saw the wound. It was just a bloody hole. Kind of disgusting. So I just looked away. When she was done I laid back down.
It's been a week when I finally could leave the hospital.
I took my crutches and limped back to the office. I knocked on the Generals office. "Come in!" I heard him yelling. I opened the door and walked in. "Ah Ms Jennars. It's good to see you, how are you feeling?" I sat myself down on the chair. "As good as it could be. Why did you wanted to talk to me?" I asked.
"I wanted to talk to you about your actions." He said getting serious. "Yeah, about that. I will take all the consequences for my actions. It was all my idea, no one lead me to do this. It was my own idea. But I couldn't help myself. Maybe these man were dead, but at least I know now, that most of them  are safe and sound. And I think their families are too. I couldn't live with the guilt, not helping those lost mans. So go ahead and fire me, I won't apologize for what I did, this was my instinct." I said confident. "Ms Jennars I won't fire you. I wanted to tell you that I'm impressed. I liked that you follow your own rules, even tho thats not the way to do it in the army. You want to be a soldier this might be your chance." He told me and stood up to walk up to the wall with his picture on it. "I think we need more people like you, with a own state of mind. But as good as I think that is you need to learn to follow rules so, I wanted to offer you a training, as a soldier." He offered me. My jaw dropped. I was shocked. "Are you serious?" I asked to be sure. "Yeah, absolutely." "Oh my-, yes I would love to." I said, probably smiling like an idiot. He turned around and saluted me. I also saluted to him a got outside.

I went to the elevator and drove up to my floor and walked up to my room. I took the telephone that hang on the wall next to my door and dialed the number of my parents. "Hello?" My Mom asked on the other end?
"Mom, Hey, it's me Eva." I said in a joyful tone. "Honey, how are you? How is London?" She asked. "It's great, but I have to tell you something important." "What is it honey?" She asked worried. "I am becoming a soldier." I happily said and smiled. I couldn't her anything for a solid two minutes. "Mom?" I asked. "Are you still there?" "Evangeline" I heard my Dad asking. "Yeah? What's wrong with Mom?" I asked. "Is it true?" He asked ignoring my question. "What do you mean?" I asked if I didn't knew what he meant. "That you are getting trained as a soldier." He asked again.
"Yeah." I said quiet. "Princess, that is Great. I knew you could make it." He happily shouted.

I started laughing. "Thank you, Dad." I exclaimed. "I just can't wait. Show the bad guys, their place in the world. And maybe peace." I said.

After a few hours I finally ended the call with my Dad. I knew my Mom wasn't happy about the news. But you cannot please everyone. But I will listen to my own heart. And live my own life according to my rules. And no one could take that away from me.
