He reached out to her. Wanting to catch her. But he was to late. He couldn't reach her. He just saw her body falling into the hot flames and not breaking the eye contact with him.

He stood there for a few minutes, before  he realized what just happened. He couldn't save her. He was to late.

After a few more minutes Steve and their others came up to me. "Buck, we need to leave. This whole building is going to collapse." He explained. But he didn't move. "What is wrong and where is Evangeline?" He asked, but he didn't respond, I still had my eyes onto the flames. He had no voice left.

Cap looked around, asking his colleagues for help and also looking for Evangeline. Dugan suddenly pulled up the chain from Evangeline, the one that every soldier had. The one that had their name and army number on, so when they find their Corpse, they could identify them.
Cap immediately understood and laid a hand in his shoulder in misery. "Buck, we need to leave." He silently said to his best friend, not wanting to break Bucky's trance. And finally Bucky moved, he looked up at Steve, tears running down his face and misery written on his face.

"She's dead Steve and I couldn't protect her." He said breaking into tears, in front of Steve. He had never seen his friend in so much pain and so emotional before. It was miserable to watch. So Steve embraced him into to a big hug. Every other howling Commando colleague took their hat or helmet of, as a sign of respect for the sacrifices Evangeline had made.

After a minute Cap told everyone to leave the building. So they ran outside to the fresh air.
