Daiyu came home to quite a surprise. Not knowing what to think, she just joined her mother in drowning their emotions and thoughts in three consecutive bottles of wine, and that was that for them. No more did those bitches interfere with Renjun's happiness, or life in general. They didn't even attempt to intercept his move to a new household in the smallest way. Renjun was chuffed, to say the least.

Renjun skipped school on Tuesday as well, his father having had him rushed to the hospital the second he mentioned his minor injury. His father had disregarded any insistence or reassurences from Renjun claiming he was perfectly fine, and brought him straight to medical attention. The nurse found his concern "all too touching", but assured him that Renjun was okay and that no serious damage had been done. The nurse, who they later learned was named Qian Kun, simply recommended a day off school though Renjun could attend if he wanted to. Renjun saw this as a suggestion that it wasn't too serious at all, and smiled in thanks as he handed them a cream and a box of tablets for pain relief, and sent them on their way. "I told you," Renjun reprimanded his father, who just smiled and shook his head.

The men who helped with the move came on Tuesday morning to collect all of Renjun's things. Renjun accompanied them to make sure they got everything that was his and only his, and not take anything that might cause his ex-relatives (as he and his father liked to call them) come visit him later to retrieve. When they had packed everything, he walked out with them, carrying one of his cardboard boxes, though a smaller one as the men had insisted he shouldn't push himself. When they passed by Daiyu's room, Renjun was struck with an idea. He handed the box to one of the men with an apology ("it's fine! Do what you need to do, we'll be in the van"). He braced himself for a moment, and knocked on the door to his ex-sister's room. When there was no reply, he opened the door himself and found the room devoid of any Daiyus. She must have been watching TV in the living room or getting fucked or something. He wasted no time in sprinting over to the desk, opening the drawer and ruffling through her things. Preferring not to really look at her possessions, he just pushed them aside, looking for one item. Finding it, he picked up the note and tucked it into his pocket.

Turning around, he realised Daiyu had been watching him go through her things for God knows how long. Strangely, she wasn't doing anything about it, choosing to stand there and watch him, and so when Renjun walked past her, he bumped into her shoulder and muttered something he had wanted to say to her for too long; just by way of farewell.

"Fuck you."

Jeno and Jaemin were angry that they hadn't received permission to just stay with Renjun on Tuesday instead of attending school. This also meant that it was left up to them to explain to Chenle what had occurred the day before. Having no idea how he would react, they had been too scared to do it by themselves over text, but they were now regretting that as they walked up to a jumpy Chenle who was shakily putting his books into his locker, thinking that he was gonna kill them for their radio silence.

Jeno tapped him on the shoulder, and he screeched in surprise, dropping his poor geography book, which landed with a plop, and spun around, grabbing a soft copy for self-defence. The girl a few lockers down just slammed her locker shut and walked away, leaving them to their gay fucking business.

Realising who it was, Chenle dropped his copy to his side in relief, before his eyes widened and he grabbed each of their shoulders. "You guys were being total Renjuns yesterday!" He whisper-screamed up at them, looking as pissed as he would ever look. "What?" the two asked in unison, completely oblivious of the metaphor Chenle was trying to incorporate.

"Complete radio silence, not a peep from either of you- you didn't even tell me that Renjun was okay or- or anything! I thought you were dead!" Jaemin swallowed, and told Chenle every little thing that had happened yesterday, with Jeno inputting whenever he thought necessary, until the part where Jeno went upstairs. Jeno explained from there, and they switched roles, with Jaemin piping in whenever, right up till the part when they saw Renjun off to his new house, which was actually pretty spacey and nice. They, of course, left out any embarrassing or blackmail worthy bits, including the part where Renjun's father questioned them on their personalities, and their activities; forcing promises out of them and such, saying he shipped them with his son and leaving them to die an anticlimactic death.

Chenle looked beyond happy and relieved to be sure about Renjun's safety, and the developments with his father and everything, but when they rounded off the story, he scoffed, and Jeno and Jaemin looked at each other in confusion. They were doing this too often, but everything was just so confusing. "What?" enquired Jeno, wishing to know what Chenle found so negatively humorous. "I know you're lying about something," he said matter of factly, "I've done enough lying myself to know. Anyway, the bell's about to go and for some reason, I don't seem to care. I won't pester you about it."

It was like Chenle was some time god, because the bell rang right after he finished his sentence, so Chenle picked up his books and whipped around, walking off. If he had had a ponytail, it would have smacked the both of them in the face, and that was the tea.

Jaemin and Jeno were quaking in their seats the whole day, just excited to see Renjun right after school. And rightly so, as something quite unexpected was to happen that afternoon.
