Walking through the parking lot to the front doors of Abel's studio, I press the lock button on my keys until my car beeps twice. Shoving them in the pocket of my shorts, I approach the doors to pull them open then make my way through the lobby over to the elevators. Pressing the call button a pair of doors immediately open and I step on choosing the floor number.Earlier when I was at work Abel called asking me to meet him at his studio as soon as I got off. Apparently he wants me to meet someone which I don't see why this couldn't wait until later; I still have to pack for this trip to Lebanon tomorrow.
Once I reach the top floor the elevator doors open with a soft ding and I step off heading in the direction of his studio.
I come up on the double doors curious who this person Abel wants me to meet is and I knock before I open the door peering inside to find a empty room. A little confused I step deeper into the room and a soft smile on my lips, I find Abel in the booth with his headphones on. He's standing in front of a stan writing something on paper; his eyebrows furrowed in concentration, his dark eyes focused.
Crossing my arms I watch him for a moment appreciating him in his element. He looks really good in a booth.
Abel puts the pencil down then and adjusting his headphones he begins singing and his voice comes through the speakers around the room.
Hearing only his voice I'm slightly stunned from how raw it is.
"Wild love
{...}
I don't know if it's good for you
But I know, that it's wild loveOh, oh, love, love, babe
Oh, oh, love, love, babe
Oh, oh, love, love, babe
Oh, oh, love, love, babeOh, l-l-love
Oh, l-l-love
Oh baby, oh yeah
Oh, l-l-love
It's a wild loveOh, oh, love, love baby
Oh, oh, love, love baby
Oh, oh, love, love baby
Oh, oh, love, love baby
It's a wild love when I love you, love"When he's finished he removes the headphones to put them down for the pencil again to scribble something on the page.
I don't think I'll ever not be amazed when I watch Abel create art.
When I first started really listening to the meaning in his songs on Trilogy I used to imagined what he looked like when he sung thoes songs. If he closed his eyes or held the mic, maybe even danced around a little bit if the track was fun or emotional. Like at the end of Loft Music; I always imagined he's just standing there in front of the mic with his eyes closed harmonizing with the beat. It's what I do so I wouldn't be surprised if he did too.
