this had to be the best day jaebum has had in a while. the three of them had spent the entire morning at the beach, up until afternoon, talking, listening to music, and sharing old memories.

no one else was there, they had the whole beach to themselves. jackson also had the idea that all of them should turn off their phones so no one could interrupt them. it almost felt like old times.

they even helped jaebum forget about his drama for a while, forget the fact thst everything was a mess and that he was hurting. but that didn't last long.

he missed youngjae. he missed him so damn much, jaebum had no idea he was capable of missing someone that strongly. his phone was still off, so he had no idea if youngjae might have wished him a happy birthday, or if he even remembered. he hoped it, though.

„what are you thinking about?", jackson asked, as jaebum's mind had wandered off.

„... youngjae." he hesitated, not wanting to kill the mood.

„do you miss him?" jinyoung asked, trying to ignore the guilt he felt for being the reason for all of this. all jaebum could do was nod.

„guys", jackson announced himself, trying to change the topic. „i have to tell you something. i, uh. i think i have a crush.." the boy was blushing all over his face and his friends' response didn't make that any better.

„that's no news, jackson. you've been giggling about that all morning.", jaebum snickered.

„i know, but.. the thing is.."

jinyoung and jaebum smiled at each other as jackson was struggling to find the right words. he was staring at the sand, drawing small circles into it with his fingers.

„it's mark, isn't it?", jinyoung asked and jackson's head shot up in shock, the redness on his cheeks reappearing.

„how did you–"

„dude, come on. you're so obvious. the way you're looking at him all lovey-dovey, and how you really subtly smile whenever someone says his name.", jinyoung laughed. „it's adorable."

„so.. you're okay with this?" jackson asked carefully.

„am i your dad? you don't need my permission for anything, dude. but yes, of course i'm okay with it. as long as you're happy... both of you."

jackson looked relieved, like a hundred stones had fallen off his chest, and jaebum was.. happy. for jackson, and for himself, for having such good friends.

„and plus, i get it, i mean mark is handsome." jinyoung casually stated as he  stuffed a praliné in his mouth. his friends looked at him in utter confusion.

„what, can't a guy find another guy attractive? do i have to add the «no homo» part?", he shook his head, laughing slightly.

„are you gonna out yourself now, too?", jaebum laughed along with jackson, both getting a piece of chocolate thrown against their heads.

„anyway", jinyoung said, „we should probably get going. jackson and i still gotta organize your surprise party." he started cleaning up the rubbish, but stopped himself and searched for something in his jacket.

„but first, here's another present for the birthday boy. it's from both of us."
jaebum took the envelope and opened it, not believing his eyes.

„my yu-gi-oh card! i knew you guys stole it from me, i knew it!"

„we didn't steal it, asshead. jinyoung found it on ebay after looking for it for months."

„yeah, and the seller totally played me, no way it was worth as much as i paid him.", jinyoung fake-cried, making his best friends laugh.

„thanks guys, this is the best gift i could have gotten. this whole day, i mean."

jinyoung smiled. „the day is not over yet, though."

hewwo guys, i say this after every chap but sorry for the late update :(

i literally have no excuse except for being too depressed and unmotivated to write, but i miss u guys,,

i know this isn't much, but i'll try to keep writing tonight if i don't fall asleep, and the next chapter will DEFINITELY have 2jae ok!!!! i promise!!!!

i just needed some jinsonbum bonding time bc i love them a whole lot hehe
