Chapter 3

The bell rings loudly as I stand up and make my way towards the door.

"Oh Anna! I'll be needing you to see Oz again soon."

"Geez Reece, that didn't last long, I got you some a few days ago. Surely you would have plenty left." I exclaim with a chuckle. He smiles sheepishly and shrugs.

"Nope, all gone. What I gave you was the last of it."

"You’re such a pothead. Anyway I'll be seeing him soon, maybe on Saturday."

"Alright cool. I'll give you the money tomorrow. If you’re at school that is."

"Yeah, I'll be here."

"See you tomorrow then."

I leave the room and enter the busy hallway. Pushing my way through the crowds of people until I make it to my locker and check my phone for messages.

'I'll be under the bridge. See you Sat. Oz'

I chuck it back in the locker carelessly and close it shut just before I feel someone slam into me from behind, making me hit into the lockers with a loud thud.

"Hey! Watch it!" I yell automatically and take a deep breath to calm myself before turning around slowly to see the culprit. It was a guy I hadn't seen before, with hair so dark brown it almost looks black and the most icy blue eyes I've ever seen.

He looks at me apologetically and is about to say something when I notice Stacey behind him. "Oh my god! I'm so sorry. I didn't mean to push you. Are you okay?" Stacey asks with fake sympathy dripping from every word. He turns away from me to reply.

"Yeah, it’s alright I'm fine. I'm sorry for bumping into you though." He says turning back around to face me, seemingly genuinely sorry. I catch Stacey throwing daggers in my direction with her eyes.

Of course she makes it my fault that he's not that interested in her, and she just couldn't resist the urge to get me pushed into the lockers. She's always to chicken to do it herself though.

"I'm fin-" I'm cut off by Stacey.

"Oh, don't worry about her." She states like it's the most ridiculous thing. "You’re the new guy right?" She asks while turning flirtatious, eying this mystery man with hungry eyes.

"Uh, yeah." He shifts uncomfortably. Trust Stacey to try to get in the new guys pants on his first day. Geez I kind of feel sorry for the guy. I'm sure she would jump him right this second if it was her choice.

"Well anyway... I'll leave you two alone." I mumble as I shuffle away, faintly hearing Stacey mutter 'Thank god.' but I ignore her and continued to walk down the hall until outside in the crisp cold air and away from the crowd.

I slid down the wall until I'm sitting on the concrete ground and rummage out the small package Reece had given me. I may as well have it now, the nagging feeling running throughout my body is proving too much to ignore.

Fourth period ends with the bell. I quickly get up and hurry out of class. The narrow halls already crowding with teenagers as I rush to get to the front of the school.

Suddenly I get pulled by my wrist into the girls bathroom and I know straight away by the neatly manicured nails digging into my skin who my kidnapper is.

I give a menacing glare at the blonde before me. Fear flashes over her features and I'm sure she's remembering the broken nose. She quickly puts on a brave face and doesn't let go of my wrist.
