Pidge had always had a thing for fruit. That I knew. I didn't understand how severe their addiction was until we had landed on Earth. We visited families, as we planned, but when we got to Pidge's house, their parents had prepared a whole fruit feast.
They immediately buried their face in strawberries, then pineapple, and so on. It felt like only minutes until they were done, collapsing on the couch. Half of the fruit was gone, just from Pidge.
Do keep in mind, Sam and Colleen had probably at least 10 pounds of various fruits in what they called a "segregated fruit salad."
Pidge once played a memory for us, back on the castle, where they still had their long hair, and they were all home for Christmas.

"Katie, this is a problem," Colleen had partially joked.
"At least it's not cocaine!" Pidge responded.
"I think that would be less expensive than the fruit," Sam added.

It was hilarious. We all laughed and joked about for days afterwards. Of course, I didn't play the happy memories I had, because I had very few. The happiest memories I had were when Shiro was failing me and kept pushing my buttons when we got home. Shiro had laughed at that, which was a refreshing sound to hear.

"I'm sorry I failed my test, Shiro," I had said, disappointed in myself.
"The rest I failed you on?" Shiro smiled. I nodded.
"Why am I only bad at your class?" I laughed.

I had thirteen at the time. Everyone got a laugh out of that too. But it was then followed by me receiving the news about the Kerberos mission being failed.
Pidge's memory of that had been shown, as well, which was very similar to mine. Lance's and Hunk's were very different. It was their idols, their role models, their teachers, that were gone. It was still painful for them, but in such a different way.

Anyway, Pidge was now complaining about their stomach. Everyone laughed.
