Mastermind! Leon Kuwata x Reader

His jacket hung on the dresser by the wall. It was the only thing that stood out in this bland room. You were trapped with just five other students in this fucked up killing game. You never thought that these people would resort to killing, but you were wrong.

Even your best friend, the love of your life, fell into the trap. Leon Kuwata. The baseball bad boy who had stolen your heart. He killed Sayaka Maizono, and was executed right before your eyes. Ever since, you had distanced yourself from the others and stayed by yourself. You couldn't trust anyone here.

All you really did was either sleep, stare at the wall, or cling on to Leon's jacket while sobbing. Asahina would come to give you food sometimes. She would leave you food and give you hugs and tell you everything would be alright. Closest thing you had to a friend here. The light had left her eyes since Sakura Oogami had died. But she still came to take care of you, nevertheless. You felt more useless. She lost her best friend as well, but she was holding up fine.

Monokuma came on the announcements, saying that today was the final trial, to figure out who the mastermind was or that all of the remaining members were going to get executed.

You dragged yourself out of bed. It was hard, but you knew you would have serious consequences if you defied Monokuma. You walked to the elevator, and waited with the others.

Asahina gave you a small smile, standing next to you without saying a word.

"This is it," Makoto Naegi said quietly. "We are going to make it out of here."

"Or we all will be executed brutally!" Toko Fukawa practically shouted, with a tremor to her voice.

"For Leon," you muttered to yourself blankly. "I have to get out for Leon..." Nobody seemed to hear you, but you didn't care. You took a deep breath, and the elevator opened to reveal the courtroom. Everyone took their spot at the podiums. Seconds later Monokuma hopped onto his chair, his rubber mallet in hand.

He explained how important the trial was, and how your time limit was extended longer than a normal trial since it was going to be a tough one. Immediately, the other students began to debate on who the mastermind was. They threw each other under the bus, desperate to figure out who the culprit was that made this horrible game. You barely uttered a word, except to provide background information to everyone's claims to either help or destroy an idea.

Eventually, everyone agreed on a culprit. Junko Enoshima. They said that her sister had disguised as her and was killed by the real Junko Enoshima. The voting session came and passed, and everyone was waiting for Junko to appear.

But she didn't.

The spinner said that everyone was incorrect. They had chosen the wrong person.

"H-How is this possible?!" Makoto exclaimed. His face grew pale and his hands flew to his head, a panic attack coming. Asahina was crying and Toko was screaming. Kyoko had an expression of pure shock, breaking her usually emotionless demeanor.

"You all were wrong. The mastermind is not Junko Enoshima," Monokuma said menacingly. He laughed loudly.

"Who's the real mastermind?!" you burst out. Your heart shattered. You weren't able to get out, even for Leon. Tears fell from your eyes.

"No more questions! It's punishment time!" Monokuma exclaimed happily. As he was about to hit the punishment button with his mallet, he was stopped.

"Hey, Mono-bear, let's not get too hasty," said the sweet and charming voice of the one you loved. You couldn't believe what you were seeing. You had stopped crying, but you had no idea how exactly you were feeling.

It was Leon. But, he was different. His jacket was half black, half white. He had chains around his wrists and neck, and his eyes had this insanity to them. One of his eyes was red, with a black marking underneath.

Leon was the mastermind.

Emotions hit you like a brick wall. Happiness, anger, despair, but most of all, love. Your lip trembled. You couldn't believe it.

"H-How?" your voice cracked as you spoke. Asahina looked over at you in shock and pity. Leon looked up at you and smirked.

"I faked my death, but it was all necessary," Leon explained briefly.

"Necessary for what?! The genocide of innocent teenagers?!" Makoto shouted. His eyes were red, obviously he was trying not to cry himself. Leon looked over at Makoto with a contempuous gaze.

"No, that doesn't sound nice at all," Leon shot back. "More like, the elimination of pests." You felt hurt.

"So that's all we were to you?! Pests that needed to be killed off?!" you shouted. You felt betrayed. Leon looked at you and he looked as if he realized he made a huge mistake.

"Not all of you," Leon replied quickly. "My dear (y/n), you were a prize to be won. I made sure that you weren't going to die."

"What do you mean?" snapped Asahina. Leon smirked, his red eye seeming to glow.

"The one you thought that was the mastermind, Junko Enoshima, was planning to kill my dear (y/n), with the partnership of Sayaka Maizono," Leon explained. "So, I got Monokuma to kill Junko for me, and then I went after Maizono myself. I knew that it would end up with me having to lose my beautiful's attention for awhile, but I had to save her."

"W-Well, you're going to e-execute us a-all!" Toko pointed out, unable to stop herself from stammering. Leon let out an insane laugh.

"Not all of you. I'm not executing (y/n)," Leon replied. He smirked. "Well, talking time is over." He leaned over and pressed the punishment button and everything went black.

-----

When you opened your eyes, blinding light stung them. You sat up and realized you were laying on a bed with a checkered red and black pattern.

"You're finally awake," Leon said. He was sitting at the foot of the bed. His red eye was a pale shade of red, almost calming. His eyes were filled with warmth.

"You..! You..!" you snarled, crouching back into the wall. The others were dead. It was his fault. "Monster!" Leon looked genuinely hurt.

"They were very bad people," Leon tried to justify.

"No they weren't! They were just innocent kids!" you shouted.

"Outside of school, they commited terrible crimes. They murdered, stole, and did unspeakable things. I did the world a favor!" Leon retorted. You stopped arguing. You were shocked. You didn't know whether or not to believe him.

"Are they... Are they dead?" you were afraid to hear the answer, even if it turned out they were bad people.

"Let's just say they will be sleeping for a long time, love," Leon replied.

"Love?" you questioned, heat rushing to your face. Leon chuckled, his face coming close to yours.

"I thought I made this obvious," Leon started. "I love you, (y/n)." His lips locked with yours. The kiss was soft and gentle. As he pulled away, his eyes were pleading. He wanted you to reply.

"I love you too," you said without hesitation. Leon was still the same, even though now he was showing his crazy side. He smirked, satisfied with your answer.

He pulled you close to him, and made you both fall back onto the bed.

"This is all I ever wanted," Leon said quietly. "To have you for myself."
