Important note: this story does not relate to the main story in any way.

"Come on, Leon!" you whined. "You can't stay in there forever."

You were trying to coax Leon out of his room. It was Halloween night and you wanted to walk around to see the decorations everyone put up. But for some reason, Leon didn't want to go. He locked himself in your room and refused to come out.

"It's not okay for me to be out there," Leon protested.

"Nothing bad will happen," you groaned and slumped against the door. "Come on, I have been looking forward to taking you out on Halloween for, like, forever!"

"We can't go," Leon declared.

You sighed and looked down at the ground in disappointment. Suddenly, you heard a crash from inside. You jumped and tried to open the door.

"Leon, Leon!" you exclaimed. "Are you okay?"

"Just... peachy!" Leon called, his voice strained. "Please go."

"But-.."

"GO!" Leon shouted, causing you to jump.

He never got this loud. He never yelled at you before. Tears sprung at the corners of your eyes and you were tempted to walk out without saying a word to Leon. But you knew better than that.

"Not until you explain what's going on," you snapped.

There was an animalistic growl from inside.

"It's not safe," Leon said, probably through grit teeth. "I'm begging you, leave..."

He let out a cry of pain, and there was silence. Your breath hitches. You took a few deep breaths as you collected your thoughts. You knocked on the door.

"Leon?" you whispered.

A growl was your response. Something started scratching at the door. You jumped back, letting out a shriek of fright. You fell onto the ground. The door burst open and in front of you stood a large wolf. Its fur was black as night and it had familiar ice blue eyes. What did it do to Leon? And how? He was just fine moments ago. You didn't think anymore and sprung to your feet, attempting to run away. The wolf lunged at you and caught your pant leg, causing it to tear and you to fall over. You hit the ground with a massive thud.

The wolf prowled towards you as you tried to get reoriented. Your head was pounding. Before you had time to process what had happened, the wolf was in your face. You let out a scream and backed up into the wall. You locked eyes with the wolf and finally realized why the eyes looked so familiar.

They belonged to Leon.

"L-Leon? I-Is that you?" you stammered.

The wolf snarled, slobber dripping down its massive teeth. You started to shake as it inched closer to you.

"Leon, please," you pleaded.

The wolf stopped, shaking itself before backing away, conflicting emotions in its eyes. It ran away from you, back to the room. You clenched your jaw. You had to help him. Whatever happened to him, you needed to help.

"Leon, don't be afraid," you said, walking towards the room.

There was whimpering from inside the room. You looked inside and saw the wolf with its head against the wall. You slowly started approaching Leon.

"Come on, it's me," you said softly.

Leon turned to you, sorrow and confusion in his eyes. It turned to anger and aggression after a few seconds. Before you could process what was happening, the wolf was on top of you, snarling down at you. In the process, your arm got scratched and started bleeding. You grit your teeth as you tried not to let out a cry of pain.

"Leon..." you whispered, closing your eyes.

The wolf stopped growling, normality in its eyes. Leon whimpered and backed away from you.

"Leon, get ahold of yourself," you scolded. "You made a mistake. Letting your emotions control you won't help your situation. If you control your emotions, you can control yourself."

You climbed onto your bed, patting the bed next to you.

"Come on, I understand why you didn't want to go or now," you sighed. "If you told me I would've been confused, but I would've understood."

Leon hopped onto the bed next to you, curling up next to you. He licked your arm where he scratched you and let out a small whine.

"That's not your fault," you assured.

Leon looked up at you, obviously not believing you.

"I shouldn't have approached you like that," you insisted.

Leon yawned and rested his wolf head on your lap. You felt drowsy and you started to fall asleep, Leon's fur keeping you warm.

A few hours later, Leon changed back. He didn't feel like leaving, so he pulled a blanket over you and himself and wrapped his arms around your torso, hugging you like a teddy bear. He rested his chin on the top of your head, holding you protectively.

He wasn't going to let anything hurt you ever again.

Happy Halloween! I made this little one shot for the holiday. Thanks for the read and don't forget to vote :)
