June's PoV

"Hey." Nick said, giving me that nonchalant, expectant expression he always had on his face.

"Sup?" I asked, inviting him in.

"So, Albert sent me here. 'Cause obviously he thinks you're gonna do something totally reckless or some shit." Nick pointed out.

"Pretty much." I said, leaning up against the wall, shoving my hands into my pockets.

"Well, I'm not fucking five, and Albert never listens to me." I added.

Nick nodded.

"Well, what should we do, June?"

"Something beyond reckless."

"I like the way you think." Nick said, tossing his keys up in the air, and leading me out of the house. We got into his busted up Honda, and sped off.

"Where to, Valensi?!" I yelled over the roaring engine. He simply laughed, giving the pedal more gas. He slammed on the brake at a stop light, and I nearly slammed into the glove compartment in front of me.

"Dude!!" I said, feeling my stomach lurch.

"Sorry!" Nick said, not sounding that sincere. He pulled up to an old rickety house at the dead end of a dark road.

Nick led me out of the car, tugging me by the wrist. The house seemed pretty quiet.

He led me inside, and then opened a door that led to a dark basement.

"Where are we?"

"You'll see." Nick responded.

Suddenly, enormous, yet deep, low pulses of music vibrated through my ears and entire body.

Nick turned to me.

"Don't tell the guys this, but I found this place, and it's so rad. I know I can trust you." Nick said, smiling at me. Light purple and blue lights floated everywhere, over the large crowd of teenagers just indulging into the music.

They weren't smoking or drinking, or getting high. They were just dancing.

"Shall we..?" Nick said. I couldn't hear him, but I could read his lips fairly well.

"Sure." I said, laughing. He took my hand, and I danced slowly in my spot. Nick smiled, and moved lightly in a fair distance from me.

"Is that what you call dancing?" I said, forgetting he couldn't hear me.

A look of confusion crossed his face.

I stepped closer to him, and grabbed his face, speaking lowly and clearly into his ear.

"Is. That. Your. Idea. Of. Dancing?" I repeated for him. Nick tilted my head, and spoke back.

"Yes. You mad?" Nick responded. I playfully smacked him lightly in the face. He showed a face of mock sadness, and I laughed.

He pulled me close to him, and he danced a little more expressively. I did the same, grinning wildly and playfully.

We danced the entire night, and I had totally forgotten about Albert.

It was like we were both entranced, and nothing else in the world made sense, or mattered.

"Oh shit!" I yelled. Nick had his chin on my shoulder, and had bent down and wrapped his hands around my waist.

He didn't hear me.

I let go of him, and he looked startled. I pointed to my wrist frantically, and his eyes widened. We stumbled up the stairs hand in hand, escaping from the musical paradise.

When we got in the car, I breathed slowly, hating he sudden silence.

Nick stuck the key in ignition, and sped off.

"That was fun, right?" He said, smiling towards me. Once again, he accidentally slammed on the brakes at a sign.

"Asshole!" I shouted.

Then. I laughed.

"Yes. I enjoyed it." I answered, grinning as he sped off towards my house.

"Good. We should go again." Nick declared.

"Yes! That would be amazing." I gushed. He snickered, pulling into my driveway. I unbuckled my seatbelt, and he did the same.

"Well, see you, adrenaline buddy." I said with a smile. Nick laughed.

"Okay. See you." He said.

I opened the door, and suddenly, a hand grabbed my arm, and pulled me back into the car, and my lips met with Nick's.

He pulled back, smirking.

"Alright, night, June."

I got out of the car, and noticed that Albert was standing in the doorway.

Shit.
