Chapter 29*

June's PoV

Julian looked towards me, cocking his head curiously to the side, furrowing his eyebrows.

"What's wrong?" He asked. I didn't answer him. Albert was still on the other line.

"June?" He asked.

"Now?" I asked.

"Come to my room later. Room 913."

With that, he hung up.

I turned off my phone, and then tossed it onto the floor. Julian sat up on the bed.

"Who was that?"

"Take a wild guess."

"It was Albert, wasn't it?"

"I don't know what he wants from me, Julian. He wants to talk to me, in his room later." I said, pacing in front of the bed, Julian's eyes following me.

A look of apprehension passed his face.

"I don't know what he wants; are you gonna go?"

"Probably. Just to see what he wants."

"Do you think he still....Feels for you?"

"Probably. He's a really persistent person. Even when things don't go in his favor." I explained.

Julian replied with a simple nod, and I laid back down with him.

He gazed over towards me, and I stared at him. The look he gave me was a mix of affection and concern. I stared up curiously, and he looked at me for several seconds before staring off into space.

"Well listen. You're gonna love your 3rd surprise. I can guarantee it. Then afterwards, you and Alb can figure out whatever he wants to say to you. But I don't want you to think about it at all." He said, putting his hands on each side of my head.

"Okay, Juniper Danielle Sears?"

"Okay."

"Promise with all your heart?"

"I promise with all of my heart."

"Do you want me to come with you?"

"I dunno. I think Alb would probably take offense to that, don't you think? Besides, Jules. That boy is like my brother, and he would never hurt me." I reassured.

Julian's face didn't seem convinced.

"June, what if he tries to hurt you?"

"He's not gonna hurt me!"

"How do I know that?"he asked, sounding slightly annoyed.

"Julian! Albert and I have been joined at the hip since kindergarten! That's over fifteen years."

"People change, June! Don't you realize that? And what if he hurts you? I'm gonna have to hurt him, twice as badly."

"He only said he wanted to talk. Albert has never lied to me." I justified, although I wasn't sure that I should've been sticking up for Albert.

Who knows what he wanted from me. I just want to get this over with. And I don't want Julian to be too worried about me.

Because there was nothing to be worried about.

Right?
