June's PoV
"Where the HELL where you?!" Albert shouted at me as soon as I closed the door.
His eyes were red, and there were massive bags under his eyes.
"Albert, chill! I was out with Nick." I said, rolling my eyes.
"No, I'm not gonna chill, June! You worried the FUCK out of me!! You've been gone for three hours since I returned!!"
I looked at Albert, and I could tell he was seriously pissed.
"Listen Al, I'm sorry I worried you. Nick just took me out, and we hung out together. We lost track of time. Nothing happened to me; obviously, I am still in one piece."
Albert walked away from me, saying nothing more.
I sighed, and dragged myself up the stairs. Why was Albert so concerned about me tonight?
I got undressed, and rolled into bed. I closed my eyes, yet my phone vibrating on the night table next to my bed interrupted me.
"So fun, June. Again, Friday night?"
It was from a number I didn't recognize. But I knew it was Nick.
I ran my fingers lightly over my lips as I picked up my phone.
His lips were so different from Julian's. I wasn't sure if I liked that difference.
'I don't know, Nick. Albert's really pissed.' I texted back.
I waited, laying my phone on my stomach until he responded again.
'I can explain to Al that it was my fault.'
'It won't matter. Al's still angry.' I responded, before turning my phone off completely.
I fell asleep for a decent amount of time, and I was awakened by a light knock on my door.
A curly-haired silhouette stood in my doorway.
I sat up in bed.
"I'm sorry." He apologized to me, breathing lightly. He stepped over to me, sitting down next to me.
I yawned, and looked towards him.
"It's fine, Albert."
"No, it's not. I was being kind of an asshole. I would hate to see you get hurt again, okay? You're my everything. And I want to protect you forever." Albert said, wrapping his arms around me in a hug.
I hugged him back tightly.
"Thank you, Albert..."
Albert pulled back, and sat on his knees, smiling.
"So are you and Nick.."
"No way!"
"I saw you two kiss in the car, you know." Albert said, smirking.
I sighed.
"I swear to god, Albert. We are not together." I said, closing my eyes and holding right palm up as if to swear by an oath.
Albert snickered.
"What, are you afraid that I might marry his sister or something?" Albert joked. I gaped at him and he laughed. I elbowed him in the ribcage.
"Not funny!"
Albert laughed as I laid back on the bed, dozing off. He dozed off with his left arm around my shoulder, and I didn't hesitate to snuggle into him.
The next morning, I woke up, and got ready, feeling refreshed. Albert got ready as well, and we were off to school.
"Did I tell you about the joke with those two golfers and the genie who was hard of hearing?"
