"Wow, I can't believe you're actually here," Jake gushed as Daisy stepped inside his apartment.

"I can't, either," she said softly, pulling her jacket off. Jake offered to take it, and he hung it up on one of the coat hooks. "I'm so glad I finally decided to agree to meet you."

Jake smiled. "Me too."

Daisy followed him into the living room, taking in the clean scene.

"This is the cleanest this room has been since I bought it," Jake said like he was reading her mind.

She chuckled. "Should I feel special?"

"Of course," he said, smiling. He looked at her for a long moment before realizing he was staring and looking away. "So, do you still want to watch a movie?"

"That was the plan, right?" she questioned, and he nodded. "Let's go with that."

"Alright," Jake said, walking over to grab the TV remote. Daisy sat down on the couch facing the TV, taking the sight of him in silently. He was as cute as she remembered him to be.

The two decided on a hockey movie, Goon, because of course, and Jake sat down next to Daisy, sitting as close as he could without seeming too forward. He was sure that Daisy suspected that he had feelings for her--that or Charlie had opened his big mouth and told her--but he didn't want to overwhelm her. Besides, though Charlie insisted there was something there, he wasn't even sure if she had feelings for him.

The first 45 minutes of the movie consisted of many glances at each other's hands and not a lot of movement. Daisy just wanted Jake to go ahead and hold her hand, while Jake was worried that she'd freak out if he tried to do so.

When Daisy moved her hand to rest next to Jake's on the couch, Jake took that as a sure sign that she was thinking the same thing he was. Hesitantly, he moved his hand to rest on top of hers. She blushed, looking up at him and smiling. He smiled back, glad that she wasn't freaked out by the action.

Daisy flipped her hand over, allowing Jake to tangle his fingers with hers. She smiled at him again.

Perfect.
