"My teammates are so dumb, I'm sorry," Jake said, squeezing Daisy's hand slightly. They had been dating for a couple weeks, and Brad had invited them and his other teammates over to his house during their off day. Not everyone was there, but most of the players Daisy somewhat knew were, and that's what really mattered to her. Putting faces to names was her goal.

She laughed at his comment. "They're fine. I think they're funny."

"That makes one of us," Charlie commented from where he was sitting on the couch across from them.

About an hour prior, Brad had hooked up his old Wii console and the team had a mini Mario Kart tournament. Daisy and Jake were both awful at the game and had been eliminated almost immediately, so now they were just sitting on the couch watching their various friends battle it out.

"Stop!" Brad screeched as David Pastrnak bumped him off of the road yet again. Daisy had quickly learned that David loved torturing his opponents with Rainbow Road; he was inhumanly good at it.

Daisy broke into another fit of laughter, and Jake let go of her hand and instead wrapped an arm around her. She smiled at him before turning her attention back to the screen.

Brad, the self-proclaimed king of Mario Kart, ended up losing, much to his dismay and the enjoyment of everyone else. He flopped down on the couch next to Jake and Daisy, pouting like a child.

"You'll get him next time," Patrice teased, slapping Brad's knee.

"I don't think anyone's gonna "get him," Brad retorted, causing David to grin.

"At least you're not as bad as us," Jake said.

"Hey, I did very well, thank you," Daisy joked with a grin.

Jake laughed. "You got 11th and I got 12th. You didn't do much better."

"Jake, Daisy," Brad began, seemingly over his little episode, "if you two are any cuter I might have to call the police."
