David took a large sip of his drink, mentally scolding himself for the secret he had let slip. Sure, he didn't know that Charlie had feelings for Daisy for sure, but from his reaction and his previous actions, David was pretty damn sure. David understood it. Daisy was pretty and she and Charlie were very close. He felt bad for Charlie.

He felt even worse that he had said something aloud in front of Daisy. He hadn't really thought about what he said before he said it, which was an awful habit that often got him in trouble. Usually, it was ultimately harmless stuff that he let slip, but this time David knew it was serious.

His thoughts were disrupted by a tap on his shoulder. He turned to see Daisy standing there, a small smile on her face. Since the incident, Daisy had seemed a bit out of it, but Jake seemed just fine.

"Daisy, I'm sorry about what I said," David told her.

She laughed slightly. "If there's anyone you should apologize to, it's Charlie. I did want to talk to you about that, though. Does he... actually have feelings for me?"

"I don't know it for a fact," he admitted, "but from what I've seen of how he acts around you and both his and Torey's reaction to the whole thing, I think he does. I suspect he only told Torey about it."

Daisy sighed loudly. "Gosh, I feel so bad."

"Hey, this isn't your fault, alright?" David comforted. "Feelings are hard to control. It's not your fault he fell for you. You should just talk to him about it. I have to tell him I'm sorry aboutthis, too."

She nodded, taking in every word David told her. "He means too much to me to lose him over this. I have to make sure he knows that."
