Torey knocked on the closed bedroom door, hoping that he'd find Charlie inside. Since David had let Charlie's little secret slip, Daisy had gone back to talking like nothing was wrong, David had retreated to the kitchen, and Charlie had disappeared. So, Torey felt that it was his responsibility to find Charlie and talk to him, since he had been involved in it, too.
"Hey, Charlie. Can I come in?" he asked, pressing his body against the door so he would hear better.
"Sure," Charlie grumbled from the other side. Torey slowly opened the door to find Charlie sitting on the guest bed, his head in his hands. He closed the door behind him before moving to sit down next to Charlie.
"God, I'm so sorry," he told Charlie, not really sure what else to say.
"Did you tell him?" Charlie questioned, looking up at Torey. His eyes and the skin around them were an awful shade of red, and Torey's heart sunk at the sight.
Torey shook his head. "No, I didn't. I promised you I wouldn't tell a soul and I stood by that. I guess Pasta just figured it out."
"Then you have nothing to apologize for," Charlie told him. "It's not your fault."
"I know," Torey replied, pausing for a moment. "That doesn't mean I don't feel bad for you, though."
Charlie shrugged, looking down. "It was bound to happen, I guess. God, Jake's gonna hate me."
"Hey, I highly doubt that," Torey told him, patting his back awkwardly. "You guys are best friends. As long as you don't pull anything on Daisy, you'll be fine. Besides, you have the whole off-season to figure this all out."
"Yeah," he agreed. "Pasta really cannot keep a secret."
Torey chuckled. "No, he really can't."
