Daisy sighed, fixing her hair again to make sure it looked perfect.
"Do I look okay?" she asked Iris.
Iris chuckled. "You look fine, Daisy. You just need to work on not looking so nervous!"
"Sorry, I can't help it," Daisy said, looking at herself once more before walking towards the door. She slipped her coat on, before looking over at Iris.
"Good luck," she said, smiling at her best friend.
"I'm gonna need it," Daisy replied before heading out the door.
It only took her a couple minutes to find her Uber. After greeting her, the first thing the man said was, "You look nervous."
Daisy laughed awkwardly. "I am."
"Why is that?" the man questioned.
"I'm finally meeting this guy that I've been talking to for a while," she admitted, not really wanting to tell him but also not wanting to be rude.
"Oh, I see," he replied with a chuckle. "Well, I'll get you there as quick as I can."
It was a fairly short ride to Jake's apartment, but it felt like years. She thanked her driver before exiting the car, taking in the sight of the apartment building.
Her heart raced as she found Jake's apartment, double checking to make sure she had the right apartment number before knocking on the door. She looked down at her shaking hands as she waited.
Daisy could have sown she stopped breathing when the door opened. She looked up and there was Jake, standing there staring at her. Daisy was speechless. For all the thinking she had done about this, she definitely wasn't ready. Jake was even more adorable in person.
"Daisy," he managed, stepping towards her and wrapping his arms around her. She accepted the embrace, hugging him back and holding onto him like she never wanted to let go.
