Daisy sighed sadly, watching as the Bruins left the Tampa Bay ice. The final score was 3-1 Lightning, which resulted in Boston being eliminated from the NHL playoffs.

Her heart ached for Jake and his teammates. She knew that they'd all be disappointed about being eliminated. Their hockey season was over, after all. She was disappointed both as a Bruins fan and as a girlfriend who just wanted her boyfriend to be happy.

She felt absolutely blessed to be involved with Jake and with the Bruins. She had gotten over her shyness somewhat and had made lots of new friends, which made her happy. She had never been one to go out and make friends, but she sure didn't hate having them. She appreciated having a group that she felt so comfortable with. 

Daisy had to wait a while to see Jake after the game. He looked sad, and rightfully so, but mostly it seemed like he just wanted to sleep. He looked exhausted, and she understood why. Hockey was not easy by any means.

"I'm proud of you, y'know that?" she told him as he wrapped his arms around her and held onto her like he never wanted to let go. "I'm proud of you and of this team. I have so much to thank you for, Jake."

"You don't have to thank me for anything," he told her quietly, not letting go. "I should be thanking you."

"You have nothing to thank me for," she replied, pulling away from him. "It's only been 4 months but you've changed my life, Jake. I mean that. I am so thankful that you've introduced me to all these amazing people and this amazing sport. You mean so much to me, you don't even know. I love you," she smiled, "so much."

Jake couldn't help but smile back.
