. . .

I would be lying if I didn't say I was surprised at her random remark. I thought someone paid her to say strange things to people she didn't know. Our meeting was strange back then, but she doesn't really have to remember it. MinYoung was drunk, as that's what I've learned over the fleeting months of being in the human world.

When humans are drunk, their memories of that time are vague. I've tried drinking once and I swore to never do such ridiculous things again.

"Husband ... carry me home."

Her tone was slurred and heavy, as if she didn't want to speak out completely. She had her arms spread out. Her head kept bopping up and down, yet she held the strength to keep her body upright. I assumed this human was rude and careless.

How dare an insolent peasant ask me to carry her home? Has she no conscience in who she's talking to?

"Human ... do you realise who you're talking to? I am the eldest and more charismatic prince of the underworld! I have hundreds and thousands of creatures who bow down to me!"

"Husband ... did you go to ... an anime c-convention ... or something?"

That's what I initially thought. If she asked someone else, I doubt she'd be my housewife and blood bank by today. I don't know where she'd be right now, either in the hands of another stranger, alone on the streets, shipped all the way to the moon or remain single.

Coincidence is a strange matter, isn't it?

On that particular night, I had a change of heart. A feeling, you may say. I don't know what drove me to carry her back to her house. Perhaps, it was my desire to feed off of someone. I was desperate to fill my parched throat. It was a fair exchange; I get to drink from MinYoung after I dropped her back home.

Where did I know where she lives?

I can easily tell by her scent, although the overwhelming stench of alcohol bothered me for a bit. My curiosity of alcohol should never have happened, but it only occurred once.

MinYoung kept rambling about the future life of a housewife and having a husband to care of. She talked to me mindlessly as if she was talking to a friend.

She said she disliked the subjects of History and Geography. She didn't like high school that much and boasted about being the top student. She mentioned that being a computer support specialist was boring, but she worked hard for the sake of the income.

It was amusing listening to her blurt out about her private life. Comparing MinYoung back then and now, she's only dense when she's fully conscious of herself.

I wonder why she had chosen to become a part time housewife after successfully becoming a network administrator. I wasn't fully aware that some humans devote their life to multiple jobs. I learned some reasons after observing people and concluding my own results.

One job may fulfill their contentment and social life, whilst another job is to build up for their future - in terms of housing and living expenses. Some may pick the latter and focus on one thing.

My wife, however, is an impressive person.

I followed her scent and realised she lives in a single unit by herself in a flat. She had no roommates in that unit. She lives by herself.

I didn't know anything about the hourly wages and incomes. Her parents were never mentioned, until I asked. She was optimistic in answering all my questions. She isn't like some others, of whom guard their privacy without telling much.
