. . .
When MinYoung gets sick, she uses the single room opposite the master room to avoid passing the sickness to me; even though I never catch human sickness. She would stay there and bundle herself with blankets to sweat in hopes of alleviating the fever.
Her coughs were haggard, strained and sometimes loud. She wheezes from the lack of air due to the blocked nose. I used to enter the room to bring meals for her to eat. She's thankful for my consideration, but ends up locking the door to stop me from taking care of my wife. Sometimes, she forces herself to cook her own meals to lessen the burden to me.
To be frank, I never found it burdening to take care of a human, especially when one is sick and after staying in the human world.
MinYoung is the first human being under my care and there's nothing wrong with it. I understand why she doesn't want to depend on others that much.
Eventually, I had come up with something simple to get her full attention. It wasn't a fantastic plan to begin with, but she gradually opened up to me taking care of her. Despite her failed attempts to take care of herself back in the past, she's had some friends and neighbours cater to her sickness.
"Your Highness? W-why ... are you crying?"
"Jin? I've n-never heard your voice w-waver ..."
"Jin, don't ... w-worry, I've been sick before. H-haven't you been sick as a child?"
Seeing her ill was the reason why my tears spilled out.
I've never cried, apart from the moment when my Mother passed away. She smiled in her death. They sent her body off in the underground lake and the mist took her. To say that I've never been sick is an understatement.
I was sick of living a repetitive cycle in life. Therefore, seeing MinYoung bedridden allowed me to fixate my consideration in replacement to my princely arrogance.
Now, as I'm conflicted staying here, I wonder what MinYoung is doing right now.
I know Jimin's bluffing because he fooled Jungkook once with his illusion of words. He got the younger one so bad that Jungkook swore an oath of revenge. He almost threw a tantrum and caused havoc and almost lashed at the latter. However. despite being quite young at that time, he doesn't remember it ever happening.
Jimin never fooled Jungkook again this time because the youngest usually holds the scariest types of havoc.
'A lack of power directs to desire, which leads to surrendering once and for all.'
That's a quote I remember Joker saying to Harley Quinn.
"You're bluffing." I spit at him and slam the door shut.
My human blood bank is waiting for me not for another day. I have Sandeul to rely on to keep up with the white lie, but I know it won't last forever. Even if MinYoung is a dense human being, she is capable of handling responsibilities by herself. She won't stay indoors for a long time. She'd definitely go out to find me.
I storm to my right and ignore the incoming stares of the other vampires. I have no idea where I'm going, but I want to distance myself far away from Jimin as much as possible.
Actually, I prefer to distance myself from this place and return back to the unit.
"Brother-"
"Go away."
"Brother Jin, please listen to me."
I continue to swerve past Jimin every time he appears in front of me. It would've been much better if he could just tell me how to warp out of here. I don't want to be negotiated.. I've done my bidding as the eldest in the Sanctuary for the past decades. It's not fair that they'd agree to an abrupt ordeal without my consent. The idea of the arranged marriage infuriates me. I can't think properly now.
