. . .
'Are we broken beings or are we already broken beings?'
Kim Xavier was almost the exact copy like SeokJin, yet they held their own special personas which made it seem noticeable that they are different.
The King was surprised that his first wife gave birth to twins.
He recalled having a prophecy that was vivid enough. He remembered seeing several fresh red apples on a healthy tree. However, one apple in particular was in no condition to grow further, as it already had rotted.
Xavier had pure white hair that glistened from any incoming light source, making him quite the special boy. SeokJin's was raven black, the same colour like everyone else in the Sanctuary.
One of Xavier's eye was hued a gleaming gold and the other orb was fierce red. Everyone in the Sanctuary had assumed he was cursed, whilst the others thought positively at his appearance and perceived him to be some sort of hero.
SeokJin only has normal black colours and sometimes it can transition to a soft red whenever he's feeding.
The pair got along well with each other. They shared their view equally.
There would often be times when they fought, but they quickly made up despite SeokJin taking the first step. SeokJin knew that his older twin had a short temper. He took the initial step to apologize, even when it wasn't his fault in the first place.
Henceforth, that's where SeokJin realized he'd made a mistake.
When the two brothers grew up along the years of decades, SeokJin was the first one to notice a change in Xavier's demeanor.
His short tempers grew unbearable as time passed. He didn't want to give in to SeokJin's apologies and thus caused their distance to grow apart. They clashed with each other, even though SeokJin just wanted the two brothers to be in good terms.
He didn't have a reason to be mad at Xavier.
Xavier was the only brother SeokJin had before he had six others.
Xavier was mostly moody at random times, which perplexed SeokJin. He doesn't understand why Xavier was in a bad mood when the vibe was good at one point.
He concluded that Xavier detested contentment. He was different from the others, although vampires at that time enjoyed fusing themselves with the tranquil darkness. They were monstrous in the past. Multiple havocs and wars erupted from enemies.
They were fine with the endless bloodshed and maniac laughter, but Xavier's despair was something else. SeokJin was the composed one out of all vampires.
The King had found out that Xavier's ability was to feed off of people's despair and any negative emotions inflicted. It took the old man some time and observation and endless inquiries to find out the answer. Whereas SeokJin feeds the memories off the humans he fed from, even from a single drop of blood in a bag he can see through a single memory.
Xavier's greed for negativity grew immensely and eventually his desire affected those around him.
The first Queen passed away due to Xavier's recklessness, which eventually got her murdered by the own hands of her own son. SeokJin had witnessed it too and rage consumed him.
He tried to pounce on his older twin, yet failed as Xavier punched him right in the stomach. It had caused SeokJin to tumble over and he briefly lost consciousness. The lingering pain was intense, endlessly crawling around his limbs.
He hadn't felt pain so harsh and the first infliction came from Xavier.
Xavier could not be stopped.
The King was seconds away from stepping back into the Sanctuary when he sensed danger looming around the very high tips of the mountain. He was aware of the faint screams inside and didn't hesitate a second to materialize inside.
The King couldn't believe what he'd seen with his own pair of eyes; his first Queen surrounded by a pool of her own blood and an unconscious SeokJin by the throne.
Xavier had his eyes onto a particular someone the first time he saw her. She and this other girl were treated specially for a reason. Their blood was so pure and divine, gifted by eternal blessings from above.
At times their presence in the Sanctuary was rare. They were mostly with the council. Any uninvited guests were barred from seeing them. They were isolated away from the other vampires.
Their blood was both a gift and a melancholic curse. SeokJin felt pity for the pair of women who had to be separated from the others. Even though he was a prince himself, he wasn't allowed to see them at all.
He barely felt their lingering presence since he was sometimes in his chamber. SeokJin, too, understood their lack of freedom. Holding the highest position within the community wasn't easy. He knew it was for the sake of their safety and protection.
However, they weren't small children anymore.
When Xavier's greed rose to a peak, he took his plan to the next level and obliterated anyone who got in his way. He took care of the innocent ones and the guards. They were easy for the old prince to rid off. Just a flick of his finger, it caused the lives around him to end.
They were consumed with the touch of Xavier's madness, darkness and despair, leading them to their own suicide.
Xavier had infiltrated through to find the pure women and got his hands to the first girl.
The King had sacrificed half of his life to stop Xavier and it would take the old man decades to forget about this matter.
The screams of terror and pleads reached to his eyes. He could never forget about it. They were his people, loyal and beloved. He couldn't forget the blood stained on the walls. It was a normal sight at first, but the cause behind it shocked him.
Xavier caused damage to the first girl and left her unconscious. She was left in bruises and scars, trying to protect the other pure woman. She risked her own life and fought for justice, ending up still with the other councilors.
He followed the second girl's scent, muttering haunting words that induced the breathless exhales of the woman to intensify.
He had cornered her so easily without thinking much. She was succumbed with fear, which was one way for Xavier to track her down.
When her divine blood downed through his greedy throat and her pleading screams filled the hollow chamber as his claws dug through her wrist, he knew he wanted more. The ecstasy filled him with impossible thoughts and he wanted to prove it right.
Xavier wanted to drain her right there. He wanted the lass to writhe under his hold. He wanted to listen to her painful screams, which would satisfy him just by a fraction. He desired for her blood to be inside him, so he could rid all his despair with her blessings.
He'd almost succeeded in absorbing her blood.
That first woman he'd settled his eyes on was MinYoung herself.
The first King did the lightest punishment he could do; took the physical body away and burned it and infused Xavier's comatose state soul with SeokJin. Xavier was his official first born and it had pained the King to separate Xavier's entity apart.
SeokJin couldn't remember much about the incident, or even about having a twin in the first place. He always thought Xavier was his middle name.
It was a strange way to include a middle name when other vampires only had two, including the younger princes.
