Like usual. Here in the village of Rustwick, it was always raining. Not that anyone could do anything about it. The raindrops falling and hitting the floor, causing puddles to appear.
The sky a dark grey-blue colour.
Rustwick was quite a small village but it was quite dangerous. Anybody could live there. A couple of bandits lived there too. There honestly was barely any law as the Lord didn't care for his position. All he cared about was the money he got from the job, however, his daughters tried to make the village as safe as THEY could make it.
Guards patrolled during the night, but many were killed.
In a small bar, a man stood working. Watching other men brawl in the counter. Glasses going flying, yelling filling the room.
That man was Gus.
He worked in the bar. Not that he had a choice if he wanted to survive. If you didn't have a job? You were either a bandit or very very poor. Which meant both ways you were useless to society.
Gus pushed his pale grey hair out of his face, blinking his tired blue eyes as he let out a soft moan. Cleaning a glass with a flannel, mumbling to himself.
He wore a Button up shirt and trousers, his sleeves rolled up showing off the white scar down his arm on his pale pinky skin.
"Oi oi, I'm off to see Krista, ya know how it is" his sister purrs as she thinks about the young woman, a loving smile on her face.
Gus nods his head and motions to the door, speaking loudly as he tries his best to be heard over the group of people, rolling his eyes as he watches Willow jump over the counter and pick someone up, wrapping their legs around her as she kisses them wildly, kicking the door open as she carries her out.
A man walks in just as she walks out, putting out the cigarette that was between his lips, squishing it with his fingers.
The man had tanned skin and long black hair that was tied back, strands of hair falling in his face, stubble on his chin and a scar across his nose.
A cowboy hat ontop of his head. He wore a black button up shirt, the top buttons undone. A brown waistcoat and black ripped up trousers. A belt around his waist that held a bunch of knives and a gun, sighing softly as he removes his hat, running a hand through his hair.
He made his way over to Gus, a smirk coming across his face.
"Well, how'ya doin, good lookin'?" the man chuckles, looking at him with his big green eyes, a blush coming over his face.
Gus stared at him wide eyed. Before groaning and placing down the glass "What are you doing back here? Didn't you say you were off to the orphanage in Scaleswind?" he snaps, puffing out his cheeks slightly. Ducking as a chair flies past his head.
The man blinks, looking around the room and furrowing his eyebrows together "Gus that was... Two months ago today, to be exact!" he chuckles, grinning as he crosses his leg over the other, motioning for the other two bartenders to come over, sliding money across the counter.
"Hey girls, may I take Gus out the back for a moment? I promise it won't take long... I'm sure you can both handle it" he says softly gently touching their hands.
"Travis you shouldn't-"
The girls both blush and nod, taking the money and getting back to work.
Gus stares at him for a while, taking a deep breath before shaking his head and making his way around the counter, pushing open the door and stepping outside.
Travis gently takes his hand, kissing it softly and spinning him around, pulling him close to his chest, wrapping his arms around him from behind "Oh, Gus... I've missed you so much" he whispers, gently pulling him into the alleyway beside the bar.
Gus gently pushes Travis up against the wall, resting his hands on his chest, an annoyed look on his face.
"Look, Travis. You can't just- just up and leave after telling me you love me. And then fucking FORGETTING about me. Not sending me a message or even contacting me in ANY WAY!" he hisses, his cheeks red in anger "Travis- God. Next time I could be fucking dea-"
He doesn't finish
Travis has placed his lips onto Gus'. Both of them melting into the kiss, the shorter mans arms wrapping around Travis'.
Travis pulls away slightly, gently turning Gus around so he's pushing him up against the wall slightly, their lips just a breath away.
"Don't... Don't say that, Gus" he breathes out, gently tangling his fingers in his hair "It's my job. I cannot contact anyone while I'm working."
"But... Travis I'm dying what if one day- you leave and I'm. Gone?"
"Oh Gus..." Travis whispers, a sad look coming over his face "You know that won't happen. I promised I'd find ya a cure... And I'll stick to that promise. I do it while I'm working!" he laughs softly.
Gus groans, blinking his sad blue eyes "God... Travis I need to get back to work. I'll see you back home, alright?" he mumbles, looking down at his feet as he carefully pulls his arms away.
Travis nods "Leslie asleep?"
"Yeah, she should be. Candy is currently with her so... She should be fine." he mutters, grabbing his hand and kissing it softly.
Travis smirks slightly and leans in, gently tilting Gus' chin up, kissing his collarbone and neck before coming back up to his lips. Holding the kiss for a while.
Before eventually parting.
"I'll see you tonight, my angel" he winks, blowing him a kiss.
Gus rolls his eyes "Yeah. Be careful though, okay? You know this... Isn't allowed..." he mumbles.
Travis nods, resting his hands on his hips as he walks off, past the fight that's going on outside the bar.
Gus sighs, raising an eyebrow.
He shakes his head, resting a hand on his chest, where his heart is.
