Evieh stared at the newborn baby girl in her arms, frowning worriedly as she noticed the white markings on her hands.
The baby was born two almost three days ago, her big gold sunshine eyes not moving from Eviehs face. Tears streaming as she screamed and squirmed in the womans arms, dark and little bits of hair curling.
She barely had any hair, she was a newborn after all. But she looked so much like Soleil.
Tan skin, golden sparkling eyes, white freckles. She looked alot like Amy too.
The other baby.
The one who unfortunately, didn't make it.
She looked so much like Amy.
Still like Soleil.
But god, Amy didn't get to hold her babies. She hasn't got to hold either of them yet.
She was too unstable. She struggled to even give birth, she had to have a C-Section.
She hadn't told Amy about her lost child.
She hadn't told Soleil.
And speaking of the father.
Here he came, running towards the house, Thomas stumbling after him, Peter helping him walk.
"EVIEH PLEASE LET ME SEE HER" he begs, about to grab her hand, before freezing as he takes one look at the baby girl in her arms.
Thomas freezes, his mouth opening and shutting, tears welling up in his eyes when he realises that, that baby is Amys.
He was told they were going to be twins.
Not.
Not just one.
He's found out.
Soleil shakily steps forward, his eyes glued to the baby girl as tears fall down his face, Evieh slowly handing the baby to him. Smiling sadly at him.
The baby seemed to settle slightly, patting at him, clearly recognising him as her father as she cried weakly.
"She's... She's my..." he whispers, his blonde curly hair falling in his face, his golden eyes teary as he shakily looks up at Evieh again.
"... She's healthy. Unfortunately, small... B-but she's alive. She's... She's okay."
"Is m-my Amelia- is she-"
"She's alive too."
"Oh-oh thank god-" he collapses to the floor, holding his baby girl to his chest, sobbing as he kisses her forehead shakily, squeezing his eyes shut.
Thomas is muffled sobbing, clinging to Peter desperately as the taller man picks him up, noticing that Thomas is in pain.
He's meant to be in hospital still. He's not fully healed and his leg is still really bad. He needs to learn to walk properly again.
"Soleil I... I-I need.." her voice breaks and she crouches down infront of him "Soleil... I-I'm so sorry."
"... E-Evieh?"
"Y-You- Amy- s-she-she- had tw-twins."
Soleil stares at her, a confused, terrified expression coming across her face "... W-where-... N-no-" he says quickly "OH-OH GOD N-NO NO-" he sobs harder, holding the baby close to his chest, sobbing loudly as he hugs her, his body shaking with each sob he lets out, his cheeks reddening as he wails.
His scarred lip quivering as he feels Eviehs arms wrap around him, shushing him as she cradles him like a child.
She understands his pain.
She understands how awful it is to lose a child.
In all honesty? She feels jealous that he gets to hold one of them. She didn't. She lost her child. She's so sorry for them and she feels their pain, she wishes she could bring their baby back. She wishes the world for them. She just wants them happy.
As much as she hates Amy, she also loves her. She just.
She's never wish this misery and heartbreak on anyone. Ever.
"It'll be okay" she manages to whisper through her muffled sobbing as she holds him close, shushing him shakily.
They stayed there a while, sobbing.
Soleil needing just someone to hug him.
And Evieh was amazing at hugs.
Perhaps a friendship would be created.
After half an hour of calming Soleil down, still crying. But alot less.
He goes inside.
He steps in, holding their baby close, his blonde curls falling in his face, tears streaming faster as soon as he sees his lover, Amy.
One of her wrists have anti magic cuffs attached to a chain, making sure she can't escape. But it isn't too tight, not too loose. She can't escape. But it won't hurt her. Just kinda drains her energy.
He sobs harder, shakily making his way over to her.
Her skin was pale and she had cuts and scars all over her, her shirt soaked with blood from when they tried to tend to her wounds and she lashed out.
Her eyes a blood red colour, tears streaming down her face, her black hair a mess, falling in her eyes.
"Y-You deserve better" she whispers "Y-You deserve better."
"No I do not" he snaps quickly, not out of anger, but to make sure she knows how honest he is "You're perfect for me Amelia. I'm not s-scared of you... I love you... So much" he whispers and shakily moves closer to her, cupping her face in his hand, letting out a choked sob as she draws her attention to the baby in his arms, her eyes darting back to his.
"... W-We... Should ca-call her Evangeline."
"... It's a beautiful n-name" Soleil sighs shakily, carefully putting the baby girl inti the woman's arms, the baby immediately settling and squirming, trying to tug at her shirt.
"... Where's... T-the... Other...?"
Soleil starts sobbing harder as he hugs her tightly, resting his chin ontop of her head, tears rolling down his now pale face. His chest tight with anxiety.
How would she take this?
"Amelia" he starts.
"... S-she she's... Dead...?" Amy chokes out, her eyes widening slightly, her heart rate increasing "I-I K-KILLED MY BA-BABY?!" she cries out, beginning to panic, her heart aching as she starts sobbing loudly.
Soleil quickly pulls her close, shushing her lovingly "NO. NO Y-YOU- GUH- DIDN'T YOU DIDN'T AMY-" he kisses her head over and over again, holding her as close to his body as possible.
And they end up just.
Staying there.
Sobbing together.
Grieving together.
Amy blames herself.
If she had fought harder, if she had tried to do something.
This wouldn't of happened.
Now not only did her baby suffer, but so did Soleil, now Evangeline will suffer as she grows, knowing her sister is dead.
Evieh suffered.
Thomas suffered.
She did this to them.
She hurt them all.
She hurt the ones she promised she'd never lay a hand on.
That.
She'd rather die.
Poor Amy.
Soleil kisses her head after a while, shushing her lovingly, wiping her tears away with his thumb "W-we can get t-through this."
"I-I'm so sorry" She whispers "t-this is all m-my fault-" she cries.
"Shh ... Shh... No... No... Amy... Amy none of this was your fault... You're safe... You're okay..." he whispers.
"I'm sorry."
"... I know... You don't have to be" he mumbles to her, kissing her cheek gently, before hugging her tightly "We c-can do this... Baby..."
They both look down at Evangeline, who's hands are glowing white.
And Amy just sobs harder, resting her head against Soleil as she wails.
The small family suffering from their grief.
But. Atleast they had each other.
