A slave camp.
That's where Travis and Gus found themselves.
They'd been there... Two weeks now they think. They've lost track of time. Leslie was also with them. But because of how small and quick she is, she managed to scatter.
Evieh had come back not so long ago and Oliver swore he'd get them back. And he definitely did.
Gus was taken after Oliver tried to kill Dean. Both Dean and Lily were taken too. He had no idea what happened.
All he remembers was Dean screaming for Gus and.
He blacked out.
If Oliver couldn't kill Dean? He'd ruin his life. And he took Lily and Gus because they were with him at the time.
Travis came to save them all but was beaten up and thrown into the camp.
Travis and Gus sit in silence, their wrists bound, a collar around their necks and they wore ragged clothing.
Gus' hair was still soft and a grey curly mess, but he had a broken nose and a bloody face. Dirt all over him and cuts from being beaten up.
After all, slave camps are pretty much toy shops for fucked up people.
Lily and Dean were in the corner, her face hidden in his chest as she sobbed, her body shaking with each sob.
"I-I swear I'll-I'll kill them Lily" he whispers, glaring at one of the slave traders by the entrance of the tent. But he's shaking like crazy, bruises and marks all over his neck.
Atleast they got a tent. But there were many other people in there. Around 20? The four of them didn't know.
Any of them.
Dean's messy long brown hair in a hair tie, pulled to the side, his body beaten and bruised. Lily was the same, her dark blue hair tied up too. She just looked so scared and just wants to leave.
Yori helped Oliver get them here and. God she feels so betrayed. She thought they could be friends even after they broke up.
But she was wrong.
Travis lets out a soft grunt, his cat ears twitching on his head, his tanned skin so beaten and bruises, scratches all over his chest and cuts too, an infected stab wound on his side, one of his ears slightly ripped and half of his tail gone. Poor baby.
His short wavy hair falling in his golden eyes, his rough slightly bearded chin has a cut that's bleeding.
All of their hands are bound together. Nobody has free hands.
"... So this is it?" Gus says quietly.
"..." Travis says nothing, looking at Gus sadly "Gus I... I'm sorry I couldn't save ya."
The grey headed man winces, shivering "You... Tried your best. Besides. I'm dying anyway... Hopefully they give me a quick death. Maybe if I-"
Travis kicks his ankle, furrowing his eyebrows as his ears twitch, lowering on his head "Gus. Don't... Don't say that.. It was my fault your here I... I should of been better" he whispers sadly.
Gus shakes his head, leaning forward and kissing his lips, biting it softly, moving closer to Travis.
The young black haired man holds the kiss, struggling but he uses his tied up hands to wrap around the smaller mans neck, kissing him passionately.
They pull away slightly, Gus rubbing his chest gently, looking so sadly at his wound, moving forward and kissing his neck gently. Trying to stop the tears.
"Gus... I'll get us out of here... I promise." he mutters, kissing his nose gently, smiling sadly.
The other man nods, breathing shakily as he looks up at the camp leader who has just walked in.
Travis pulls away from Gus, but holds his hands with his, looking at him so lovingly, a soft scared smile on his face "No matter what happens. I'll keep living for you... And I'll keep protecting you and your family" he whispers, giving him a small smirk.
Gus smiles slightly, but his smile drops as soon as the leader starts listing numbers.
He did this everytime he came in. Once every three days. He'd collect people and they'd be sold off.
Nobody really knows who they go to. Just whoever buys them really.
"303, 268, 266, 310, 273, 272, 322-"
"I CAN'T GO BACK" a person yells, trying to run out and take the gun from one of the bandits.
A gunshot goes off and the person drops to the floor with a thud. No mercy.
Gus' eyes widen as he stares at the body, his grip tightening on Travis' hands as he scowls
"Monsters" the cat man spits. Merowing quietly.
"Anyone else like to fight or try escape?" the man snaps.
A few more people do try. All are shot.
Some people would rather die than stay there. But some don't want death. So they stay.
The man continues to list "235 and 222" he stops.
Gus freezes, his heart stopping.
He looks at the burn mark in his arm.
222.
He looks at Travis, his eyes wide in fear as Travis rests his gaze upon his arm.
He was checking each time he heard a number, terrified to lose him. And. Now he snaps his head up, looking at Gus with a horrified and angry look.
Lily has already been dragged out with another few slaves, all of them yelling and begging.
"Travis-"
"I swear I'll save you Gus-" he grabs his face gently "I'll save you, I won't let them hurt you-" he kisses Gus passionately, holding the kiss for as long as possible until Gus is ripped away from him, thrown onto the floor outside of the tent, the bandit spitting on him.
"IF YOU HURT HIM-" Travis stops when the gun is pointed at his head, seething. He shuffles back, over to where Dean is. Grabbing the terrified mans gloved hands.
"Hey- hey deep breaths" he whispers, looking at the traders "They... They won't kill them. We'll escape. We will. I PROMISE."
Dean is muffled sobbing, hitting himself in the stomach with his tied wrists, cursing and choking "I-I HATE THIS- SHIT-" He grunts, resting against Travis as he sobs.
Travis nods slowly, sighing shakily as he thinks about every scenario his boyfriend could potentially find himself in.
He watches a few slave traders walk in, snatching out syringes and filling them with a black-blue liquid. They always did this. Every night. It'd make the slaves weak so they can't fight and escape.
Travis watches a slave scream and sob before going limp as the syringe is stabbed into their shoulder.
"Shit..." he whispers.
-
Gus holds onto Lily's hand tightly as they're collars are all adjusted, their bindings tightened and they're lead to a carriage.
"222 is going to Hidems along with 266 and 303. I'd suggest delivering them off first, it's closest." a bandit mutters, before motioning to the wagon driver for him to leave after lifting the plank.
If any of them try escape? They go kaboom! So they can't escape even if they wanted to. If they left they'd get shot so they don't wanna try it.
Especially now they know they'll go kaboom.
Don't wanna risk it!
Gus shivers as he tries to reassure the terrified wolf girl, letting her hide her face in his arm.
"Jesus christ... I knew Oliver was an evil prick but. This? This..." he whispers.
Lily lets out a muffled sob, clinging to Gus "I-I just wanna go home- I wanna- I wanna say sorry-" she whispers, holding onto him tighter, hiccuping "I-I WANNA SAY-SAY SORRY TO MOM- AND-AND LAYLA-"
Gus looks at her sadly, letting her sob into her rags.
"I-I COULDN'T E-EVEN STOP- THEM- DEAN I-I COULDN'T HELP HIM- OR Y-YOU-"
"Lily you need to breathe" he whispers, glancing at one of the bandits. There's a carriage behind full of bandits. They're strong.
They won't be able to escape. No way. Not possible. They'd be shot immediately.
Gus thinks, quiet as he bites his lip, thinking about the fear in Travis' eyes. He's hoping Leslie made it out safe. It scares him to think she could be dead or injured.
He hugs Lily tighter "We'll stick together" he whispers "I won't let them hurt you."
Lily nods shakily, sobbing.
And he doesn't.
He doesn't let anyone touch her. Never will.
"... Well. You'll have to be mighty strong to keep that promise" a young woman snaps slightly.
She has short brown hair that's longer on one side. A scar across her face, her lip bruised and a bleeding cut on her neck from how tight the collar is.
"I'll be with you both. You both seem weak. Good luck. You probably won't survive a day..."
Gus stares at her, opening his mouth slightly. But he shuts up, hugging Lily tighter. Coughing away from her as he coughs up some blood, shaking it off.
"Huh. Dying too... Good luck" the woman snaps, rolling her eyes.
Gus shakes his head "I'm not dying." he lies. Doesn't want to scare Lily more.
"I-I... I guess we'll have to plan our escape there-"
"Trust me. It won't work" she shrugs "I've killed both of my past owners. I keep getting taken back to the camp. There's no escape... I would be nowhere near here if there was."
"Who the fuck are you?"
"Scar. You're Gus, dunno and don't care for the girl. I don't know or care about either of you. All I know is that we're gonna be in the same Lords house."
Gus frowns slightly. But nods slowly, looking at the now limp Lily. She passed out. Exhausted.
"What... What are we gonna do there?" he whispers, looking at Scar.
Scar shrugs, her pale skin bruised and scarred "Well. I imagine since you're a pretty boy, probably for amusement."
Gus shivers, scowling.
"Probably all of us will. Amusement, work, cleaning... The basics."
"Did..." Gus pauses, not sure if he should ask "Did you ever get hurt?"
"No. I was smart. I didn't ever fight. They ask you to clean? You clean, and you better be damn good at it-"
"SHUT IT, SLAVES" a bandit shouts.
Scar and Gus stay quiet, looking at the sky.
"... Atleast I ain't alone this time" she mutters, rolling her eyes.
Gus shivers, pinching himself as he squeezes his eyes shut "Please be a nightmare" he whispers.
But no. It definitely wasn't a nightmare.
And after an hour or two.
They come up to the gates of a rather large building. They were in a smallish village. The Lady's the probably biggest building there.
It was pretty and white, so was the whole village. But the Lady's house was covered in roses and pretty plants, a gravel path leading up to his house.
A man was waiting outside along with a young woman and a little girl.
Scar, Gus and Lily were all chucked off the wagon, shoved in through the gates of the Lady's large garden, the gates closing behind them.
Lily looks at Gus, terrified "W-what do we do?"
"... We have to go" he whispers, kissing her forehead.
Scar watches them and grunts "Let's just go talk to them. They're always nice the first few days..."
And off they walk not far, stopping infront of the Lord.
He has light lavender hair, brown cat ears, a crown resting ontop of his head, his cloak over his shoulders and he's wearing armour. Slight stubble on his chin.
The young woman had long light brown hair, a crown rested on her head. She wore a long red gown that was off the shoulder, poofed out slightly at the waist.
The young girl had light brown hair too, a tiara rested on her head, big yellow eyes, her cat ears twitching on her head.
"Ohh! These are my friends?!" she says excitedly, about to run forward, but her mother stops her.
"No no, my dear, just her. She's your maid" she says softly, stepping forward and untying Lily's wrists, kissing her hands gently "Chloe, show her to her room, will you? Give her the clothes we bought her. You can also decide her name, dear."
Chloe, the little girl, mews in excitement, taking Lily's hands "I'll call you Lilac!"
Lily glances back at Gus who gives her a sad scared smile, Gus lets out a quiet chuckle at the fact her 'new name' is similar to her real one. But he starts coughing, trying to hold it back.
The woman turns to him and Scar.
"You two work for us, you, 222?" she frowns, looking at his arm "What's your name?"
"... It's just Gus-"
She slaps him "First rule, always refer to me as 'my lady', second rule, only be polite."
Scar glares, scowling and twitching, the urge to punch her so strong.
"..." Gus takes a deep breath "My lady, my name is Gus."
"Better.." the woman mutters "Now you?"
"My Lady, my name is Scar."
"That's an ugly name... You're not the most attractive woman either. You need to get cleaned up. Both of you do... But Gus is alot more attractive. We'll see."
The Lord frowns, crossing his arms "Excuse me, my love. Let me take them inside and show them to their rooms. You have guests in the dining room." he raises an eyebrow.
The woman throws a glance his direction. Before muttering, lifting her dress and walking back inside.
"... I am VERY sorry for this. I did not want to buy any slaves. But the Lady, my wife Goldie, is in charge. I can't say what she does is right, because it's nice. But I'll treat you with the upmost respect like I do with any person."
Scar and Gus look at each other.
"I won't hurt you. But... I may not be able to say the same for my wife. People call me the Lord, but I'm only my wife's husband. I cannot do anything. Powerless" he shrugs slightly, smiling as he turns around, leading them inside "My name is Reynold. But you may call me Rey. But Reynold when around my wife."
Gus nods slowly "Why... Are you being so nice?"
"Simple. I don't agree with anything my wife is doing. But I cannot fight against her. Last time I did that she killed my sister. Poisoned."
"Jesus christ..." Scar mutters.
"Jesus christ indeed." the young man stops after leading them upstairs to a door "Here. It's small and you share, but it's something. I apologise again. See me downstairs afterwards. I will give you your chores."
And with that, he leaves the two alone. Both standing outside the room.
Gus goes into a coughing fit, gasping and breathing heavily. Taking his time to calm down. Before looking at her.
"... H-he seems okay?" Gus frowns.
"He's a pussy. If one of us are killed he won't do anything. All he can do is watch." Scar snaps, walking inside.
Gus opens his mouth to say something. But sighs.
"You'll be fine, Gus. Travis... Will save you." he coughs, before walking into the room.
