Silence.
That was the way Emile liked things.
He watched as the sunset in the distance, his legs dangling from the edge of the cliff, his eyes glued to the beautiful pinks and yellows covering the horizon.
It was gorgeous.
He had always came here when sad or thinking about things.
His purple-blue curls fell into his face, his soft purple eyes gleaming as he stares at the vibrant sky.
Tears prickling his skin.
He was the only human that Mercy and Carlia had saved. They didn't like humans, but honestly, who did? Most races thought they were evil and disgusting and were scared of them.
Carlia just was scared and mercy thought they were just stupid honestly.
So, he's quite lucky that they hadn't just killed him or ditched him as a baby.
He thought he'd be grateful.
But everything that happened to him.
Maybe.
Maybe if he hadn't been saved, maybe he would of died.
Maybe he wouldn't of had to deal with all of this.
Those thoughts swirled around in his head, his cheeks reddening as the thoughts got darker and darker, clouding his vision, until.
"Oh, I knew you'd be here!" a soft yet squeaky voice is heard.
The man, Emile, furrows his eyebrows together and looks over his shoulder "What the fu-" he freezes mid sentence as he watches the young woman float over.
Her wings fluttering until she stopped next to him, kicking her legs as she dangled them off the edge, copying him. Her peach coloured hair in bouncy curls, her sparkling pink eyes shining as they meet his.
"I've been searching a while, until I remembered you told me about this place not that long ago!"
"... That... Was three months ago?" he spoke quietly.
She giggles "I have quite a good memory... Say, can I hold your hand?" she says softly, holding her hand out.
She had such small dainty hands.
He hesitantly took hold of her hand, watching as a small glow of pink emerged from her palm, and then.
Tears.
Tears started falling down her face, a sad expression on her face.
"Ah... You've... Been holding in alot."
"How-"
"By holding someone's hand, or touching them in anyway... I can see how they're feeling. It's nice. But... Sad when it comes to the fact they're not doing well" she shrugs, before letting go of his hands, turning around and crossing her legs as she faces him.
"... I presume you expect me to tell you what's been bothering me."
"You don't have to."
"That look tells me otherwise" he jokes, sighing shakily "I think... You'd be disgusted if I told you."
The fairy frowns, brushing her hair behind her pointy ears "I don't think you're disgusting, Emile."
"You don't know what happened, April."
They sit in silence a while, April watching him with sad curiosity.
She'd never force him to speak. Never.
But she can tell he oh so badly wants to speak. He's just too scared.
"I-I was... Sixteen" he begins.
April listens, shocked expression coming across her face as she listens to him explain what had happened to him. Until they were both crying.
His arms wrapped around himself and he hung his head in shame, tears flooding his face.
"I-It was my f-fault. I'm so d-disgusting-"
"Emile..." April says softly "What you went through was not your fault. That girl? She... She didn't respect you. You had your boundaries and you made that aware. She didn't listen... Tell me... How was that your fault?"
"M-Maybe I should of just-"
"No."
He lifts his head slightly, glancing at her lips as she speaks.
"Emile... You are so strong. You may disagree. But you're still standing. You're still here and... Yes... It's scary and sad and it was horrible. But look at you" she motions to him, a smile coming across her pink lips "You're telling me. You're talking about it, Emile! That's one of the many things that's strong about you... People find it so difficult to talk about these things and sometimes, they never do... But you're strong. They are too of course.... But... What I'm trying to say is that you're brave."
Emile blinks slowly, tears falling down his face "A-April..."
"You are strong, Emile. You're not disgusting or bad, I promise you" she holds her hand out for him to take if he wants to "You're amazing."
He stares at her, his throat aching from holding back the sobs.
And. He takes her hand.
And lets it all out.
Sobbing loudly into his free hand, holding her hand tightly with his other, his body shaking as he coughs and chokes, sobbing loudly.
And she just whispers softly to him, telling him how proud she is of him. How strong he is. How nothing is his fault. That he can get through this.
Saying as many supportive and loving words as she can.
Because she means each and every one of them.
"Here... Let me take you home. Okay? I can let go-"
"Please don't let go" he whispers quickly, holding her hand tighter.
She blinks, staring for a moment, before a small smile comes across her face, nodding slowly "Of course, I won't them, Emile... Let's get you home, Hm?"

"Oh. Thank you." Carlia says blankly, staring at April who had just dropped off Emile.
They look like they are just. Staring straight through April.
"Ah! It's no problem, Carlia. He's very tired-" she pauses, quiet a moment "... Carlia, Mercy, what happened to Emile's parents?"
Mercy frowns as she removes her fangs from an apple, raising an eyebrow "Why'd'ya wanna know, kid?"
"I was just curious" she shrugs "I held his hand and-"
"Really? Damn. He must trust you then." Mercy blinks, clearly surprised.
April nods slowly "... I'm assuming you know what happened to him then?"
"Yeah" Mercy blinks, scratching her fang with a toothpick "Killed the girl."
"Oh."
"Yeah. Anyways, you said you wanted to know what happened to his parents? Mm..." the vampire frowns, running her hand through her hair, looking at Carlia who shrugs.
"I personally don't see a problem with telling her. They're dead. There's nothing we can do about that."
Mercy frowns, rolling her eyes as Carlia returns back to their study.
"Ignore them, they're fucking stupid. Yes, they're dead. Although, we only knew his father. Found him dead, bandits had the kid, we found him."
April's jaw drops "He... He lost his father?"
"Yuup!" the vampire rolls her eyes "Not that big of a deal really, seen many parents die. Leave their kids behind-"
"Have you ever had kids?" April blurts out.
Mercy stares at her a while.
"Goodbye."
Before slamming the door in her face.
The fairy squeaks, quickly flying back a little, a shocked and nervous expression on her face as she watches the blinds shut.
"... I suppose I touched a nerve..." she mumbles quietly, turning around and making her way back down the path towards her home.
"So... He lost his parents... He himself never met them or atleast remembers because he was a baby... Maybe-" she stops in her tracks, looking around "... Maybe I can make a deal with Wanda..."
