The Doctor threw a glass of water in Kat's face. "Good morning! Rise and shine!" he said gleefully, skipping around the room.
Kat gasped, abruptly sitting up. "What the hell is wrong with you?"
"Lots of things," Lila mumbled from her seat on the floor.
"Oi! I'm right here!"
"I know."
"Jerk."
"Imbecile." Lila muttered.
"We have to have a serious conversation for a moment!" Kat yelled.
"We have to have a serious conversation," The Doctor mocked in a high-pitched voice.
"That's not what I sound like!" she whined irritatedly.
"That's not what I sound like!" he mocked again.
Kat shook her head. "Did you have any... nightmares, recently?"
"Nope, none at all," the Doctor lied convincingly.
"Oh... okay..."
"Lies..." a voice whispered through out the room. "Whisper."
The Doctor ignored it, smiled, and walked to the kitchen.
"Father! Don't walk away from this!" Kat ran after him.
"W h I s p e r. Listen to the sounds of a family falling apart at the seams." The voice hummed.
"So... yogurt."
"We are not falling apart." Kat mumbled. "Why's it saying that?"
"What?"
"You know what it is."
"Yes, Doctor, you know what I am." The voice ripped at their flesh with sharp words.
"I really would like some tea right now. What about you, Kat?"
"I hate tea." She replied.
"Are we forgetting someone?" Lila asked, flouncing over to them.
"Right. Any tea, Lila?"
"Yes!"
"Or Doctor, wouldn't you prefer water? From a river oh so beautiful?" The voice suggested. "Whisper."
"Here you go, Lila!" He handed her a freshly made cup of tea.
"Thank you!" she tried to drink out of it, but it went crashing to the ground, breaking to pieces. Lila stared at it. The voice slowly formed into a figure, which stood in the center of the three.
"Well, hello there," the Doctor stated, waving.
"Isn't it a lovely day?" It asked as it took a step closer to Lila.
"Lovely."
"Kat, isn't this your fiancé?" It questioned.
"Nope. She has nothing to do with Kat," the Doctor stated.
"What?" Lila asked confusedly.
"Honestly, I still haven't learned her name properly." He laughed.
"Kat, haven't you asked yet?" It asked, stepping right in front of Lila.
"No..." she responded, "I was planning it out."
"What is going on?" Lila was utterly confused.
"Kat, shut up. Don't talk to the stranger girl." He shot her a look.
The thing took a hold of Lila's wrists, grinning. "Beautiful prey."
"Don't touch her!" Kat yelled angrily.
The Doctor stayed silent.
"Doctor, should I spare her or kill her?" The voice asked.
"Spare her. She's more use alive."
"Really? Useful?" It asked, laughing at the words.
Kat grabbed the gun from her pocket stealthily.a
"Very useful."
She raised the gun slowly and aimed it. Fire engulfed her eyes.
The Doctor didn't notice.
Kat kneeled down, sliding the gun across the floor to The Doctor's face and stood back up.
The Doctor leaned down and picked it up, sliding it into his pocket.
"It would be a shame if I, perhaps," the figure twisted Lila's arm, a loud crack sounding along with a shriek from Lila, "Broke an arm?"
The Doctor flinched, but quickly regained composure. Kat looked in about as much pain as Lila.
"Or if that didn't do anything for you, Doctor, maybe something else?" A crack emitted from Lila's leg, which caused her to collapse.
"Stop," Kat demanded, her voice breaking.
"Let her go." The Doctor emitted only anger.
"Let her go? Why Doctor? It's only my job to make all your nightmares come true!" It yelled as it took out a dagger. It held it right above Lila's chest. He forced it through, the apartment filled with an agonizing scream. And then silence as the figure disappeared along with the last breath of Lila.
