Chapter 17

My eyes open and I sit up. The sun is just rising. Johnnie's peaceful sleeping face calms me a little as the memories of the night before flood in. I rub my shoulder before slipping my clothes back on and heading downstairs into my kitchen.

I shouldn't have done what I just did. But it felt so right. I start singing Carolyn by Black Veil Brides as I make coffee. I remember today is July 5th. It's Jake's mother's birthday. She would have been 59 today. My heart cracks a little. Suddenly warm arms wrap around me.

"You have such a beautiful voice." He whispers.

"Thank you." I kiss his cheek. He blushes a little and smiles. His eyes flicker and he grins before leading my from the kitchen into my room. He pulls out my camera and tripod from my closet and starts setting it up.

"Johnnie, no I look terrible right now." I frown.

"Well get ready and then we'll film." He smiles. I roll my eyes and head to my closet. I pull out a black Escape The Fate shirt and black leggings. I slip out of my pajamas and put the outfit on.

I go into the bathroom and brush my hair before putting it in a sloppy bun. I put on my usual dark eye makeup and come out.

Johnnie is dressed in his clothes from yesterday. He has my iced coffee and acoustic guitar in his hands with the camera all set up.

"Jesus Johnnie. You're lucky I love you." I laugh. He smiles and hits record as I sit down on my bed.

"Hey thug pugs, today I will be doing a special video with Ariel! If you don't already know, this is my girlfriend. She sang on main stage with Black Veil Brides on Warped Tour. So earlier I asked you guys to request songs for her to sing. And now I'm going to search some up and she'll sing them." Johnnie says smiling.

"Hi guys!" I give a smile and wave to the camera as he searches through his Twitter.

"Jesus you take forever." I joke. He gives me a look.

"Gurl nah." He says with the girliest voice he can come up with. I roll my eyes.

"Okay first song request is Kissing in Cars by Pierce The Veil." He says. I pick up and my guitar and start playing around with notes before I get the chords right and start playing the actual song. When I finish, Johnnie claps.

"It's so awkward playing a song and no one claps or anything." I laugh. He smiles.

"Next song request is Knives And Pens by Black Veil Brides."

"I'll do the acoustic version since currently I don't have my electric guitar." I say, shrugging as I play it. His face just lights up and he kisses me on the cheek.

We go through five more songs before I do a finale.

"Next song is a favorite of mine and Johnnie's favorite band. This song is called Higher by The Ready Set." I smile.

"This feeling can't be wrong

Like it's so good it hurts

I've never heard this song

But it's like I know the words

That I had a thousand times
