Ch 40

A/N- Guys, sorry for not updating for awhile. My sister convinced me to watch Stranger Things for the first time yesterday, and it took the whole day to watch. I'm now only beginning the 3rd episode of the 2nd season, but so far it's amazing.

Short chapter, I'M SO SORRY!

Alexander POV

     Well, that just happened. Slowly, I walk inside and creep towards Eliza, who was talking to her sisters. Peggy was laying on the couch and her leg was rested on a pillow. Angelica was sitting on the couch arm. Eliza was standing and holding James in her arms. I just stood there, hoping for someone to notice me.

     No one did. James often looked at me but never said anything. I just gave up and tapped Eliza's shoulder. She doesn't turn around, she just talks to me.

Eliza- What do you want, Alex?

Alexander- I wanted to welcome you home, sweetie!

Eliza- Huh, that's weird. I mean, I was home for about 10 minutes now, and your now just welcoming me properly. 

Alexander- I'm sorry?

Eliza- Oh no! Don't apologize! Now, Angelica. You were saying?

     I note the sarcasm in her voice. I look at Angelica in all her beauty. Gosh, she's perfect. No, snap out of it! You already cheated on your wife once, you can't do it again.

Angelica- I have to go back to London as soon as possible.

Alexander- What? Why? I thought that you were going to stay here all summer! It's now only August, you have another month!

Angelica- I know. I'll stay here this week for Eliza's birthday, then I'll be heading home. I'm sorry.

     Our small conversation was interrupted by a knock at the door. Eliza lets go of James and opens the door. Philip was there with a doctor, who walks in quickly.

Eliza- She's on the couch. How long do you think it will take for her to heal?

     She says as he makes his way to the couch. Wow, ok. This is even more confusing: Angelica' leaving in a week, Eliza's mad at me for no reason, and Peggy... hurt herself? Ok, what happened on vacation? I'm glad I didn't go. Wait. Oh, no. Wait, hold on. I didn't-

Doctor- Probably at least a year.

Eliza- Probably? Sir, I need to know.

Doctor- Well, I don't know, I-

Eliza- Shouldn't you know if your a doctor?

Angelica- Eliza-

Eliza- No, I need to know if my little sister is hurt for a long time or not!

Doctor- I'm telling you, I don't know!

Eliza- Well, you should! Your the scientist and doctor! Whatever the hell is wrong with Peggy, it may be severe and I don't know that. Do you even know that?

     I turn to see the "doctor's" face. He was dark red and looking down. Oh, alrighty then. He's a fake.

Eliza- Look man, I just got back from vacation. And I refuse to wait for an answer. So, unless you have an answer, I suggest you keep your shi... business out of my house. Now can you please go?

     I start to walk out, but the doctor turns around.

Doctor- Oh, that will be 3 pounds, ma'am.

Eliza- YOU DIDN'T HELP AT ALL!

     I push him quickly out of the door and slam it just as he was about to say something. Not going to lie, that felt really good to do. But, Eliza still looked helpless. Now I gotta fix that.
