TOTAL STRANGER

"I'll be back in a minute, " Sammy says with a childish smile on her face, she walks over to a guy who's name is Gavin, as mentioned by Shaey . Loe starts explaining how the two have been going out together a lot , but the guy hadn't asked Sammy to be his girlfriend as yet. I wasn't even paying attentionto her, my mind was totally out of this place.Just as we were talking , a buff looking guy walks over to us, he introduces himself as Josh , and he kindly asks to steal Sharon away from us . Just what I needed. I'm left alone with Leo ,she's a total blubber mouth but truth be told, I like spending time with her.

"So, you and Jayson know each other from somewhere?"

" Nop,why ask

"Well firstly, we see him coming from our tent,well at least from that direction, and we see you acting all love sick and ish, then coincidentally his girlfriend of two years shows up complaining about him having lipstick stains on him and you also happento have pink lipstick on, Gurl,  give me a break, I'm not dumb ,anyone can just join the dots and read between the lines. "

"To be honest, I really don't know what you're talking about. Like you clearly said yourself , he was probably just coming from the same direction. I have never met him before."

Just as she's about to open her mouth, a guy approaches us ,omg, he's heavenly sent, I really needed to be saved from all that.

"Sorry ladies for interrupting y'all .I wanted to ask if you , he says as he turns to completely face Loe, if you would like to have a dance with me."

Loe says yes and kisses my cheek goodbye,  and they leave , I'm left all alone an I decide to go outside. I needed time to myself , what Loe had said had got me wondering. She had mentioned something about the " love birds" dating for two years and if I remember clearly, I was dating Jays less than a year ago.so that meant that he had played both of us? That guy was such an idiot. I'm deep in my thoughts that I don't hear any footsteps behind me. Suddenly, I feel a hand on my shoulder ,I'm startled by this .

" Hey babe , what is a gorgeous lady like you doing all alone out here? The party got boring? Are you with someone?

" I just came here to get some fresh air and to answer your last question, no,I'm not with anyone."

"I'm Nathan Daniels , but most people call me Nate, you are ?" He says this as he extends his arm for a handshake

"I'm Gaby, Gaby Page, nice to meet you too"

"Apparently,  I'm not with anyone tonight, or let's just say I was waiting for God to send me an angel to spend time with, and then he brought you to me."

I let out soft laugh because I really find this funny.

" I understand that you're only trying to be funny because there are a lot of girls here and you could easily choose one amongst them .

" To be honest, I would have .if I wanted to, but well , I wanted to be with you tonight .

"Now that's a total lie, you didn't even know that I was part of this camp ,we've never met before. "

" Lol okay , let's just say that I saw you ,at our pick up point , i also saw you when you were playing water games with your friends, I wanted to follow you when you left and went back to your tent , but Jayson best me to it .do you guys know each other? "

"Well honestly, I'm a bit surprised, how did you notice that it was me , I mean my masks, unlike the masks most of yalls have ,is completely covering my face but you easily recognized me."

"Well, I must say that you're the hottest girl at this camp ,anyone would recognise your fine curvy body even with their eyes closed.." he says this with a smirk on his face

I let out a soft laugh again except that it's a bit higher this time

"But seriously, you're pretty Gaby. I just had to mention it"

"Thank you, you're not bad either. "

"So , Nathan , could I please see your face" I say this with a soft smile on my face.

He refuses to show his face and he says that's why why it's called a mascarade, people have to make memories with total strangers and he was totally right, my life had been a bit low key these days and in had to spike things up. We talked about a lot of things , I had no idea what this guy looked like but he was totally fun and we actually had many things in common. He had asked me if I wanted anything to drink and he brought me a cup which had some punch in it, I swear there's was alcohol mixed in there because after drinking the third cup, I was feeling kinda tipsy. The dj started playing my favourite song - The Fix by nelly and Jeremih and to my surprise,  I stood up and started dancing. A few moments later, Nate stands up and joins me and we start dancing together.

We then decide to get inside because it was getting a bit cold outside.Most people have removed their masks and high heels. A number of couples are making out on the couch. Lol .Typical teenagers

We carefully make our way past the drunk teenagers.

" You sure you wanna stay here ? We could look for a more quiet place , a free room maybe?

I'm sure he senses the awkwardness that was brought up by his suggestion
"  No ,i mean we could do that ,if you're comfortable with it. I promise I won't try anything funny."

I'm about to say no but I spot Violet, she's sitting on the central couch, on a guy's laps, that's probably Jason's. If he can have fun with other people, why can't I , i say to myself
" Yes , we can go look for a free room. , after all its noisy in here.

He's obviously shocked by the sudden change in mood but that doesn't matter anyways.We spend about ten minutes looking around until we realise that the kitchen was indeed the only free room. I'm too stoned to be walking around all I want to do is sit down..so I sit myself on the kitchen counter and i can't help but wonder what Nate's face looks like.

"Shall we go get another drink? After all,I think we can find some here in the kitchen."
I nodded

He pours me some champagne and we both settled on the kitchen counter.

He then politely asks if he could kiss me, I hesitated, exhaled, and then closed my eyes,
His lips gazed my neck and slowly moved to my mouth. We kissed for a while and when I finally opened my eyes , he pulled away.

There's a strange silence between us

"Gaby I've been looking for you all this while, we have to go now babe, please say bye to your new found love ." Sammy says as she walks into the kitchen

I quickly say bye to Nate and he smiles back at me

The moment I stepped away from the kitchen, I was already missing him. What I really missed was his soft lips..I'd swear that Nate's kiss was almost the best kiss I've ever had.

When we reached our tent, we were all almost passed out so there was no time to discuss today's events . We all just retired to dream land.
