Ariana
People would usually wake up to the sunlight beaming down on the faces. I wake up to my doggies attacking me with kisses all over. Although I was annoyed for being woken up early, I giggled at their utter cuteness.
Just as I stood up and glided into my slippers, I heard a knock on my apartments entrance before the creaking of it opening sounded out.
I felt my heart beat quicken as my body filled with worry and fear.
"Ariana? Are you awake?" I heard the voice belonging to Cassidy sing out.
I let out a sharp, deep breath of relief.
"Don't scare me like that," I warned her, exiting my room, only to see her lazily sprawled on my couch.
"What's wrong? You look ill," I said, worry taking over.
Her makeup was smeared all over her face and her hair was a bird nests. Her clothes were dirty and looked like they had dried liquid on them.
"I'm hungover from the party last night."
Sighing, I grabbed the blanket she had wrapped around her and discarded of it. By the sweat on her forehead and the goosebumps on her arms, I knew she was working up a fever.
I went into the kitchen and boiled the kettle. As the water was heating up, I proceeded to get some makeup wipes and clear her face.
Once I was done, I threw the rubbish out and continued to make her a cup of tea, since she isn't a fan of coffee. She loves her tea with two sugars and usually extra creamy. However because she was getting sick, I didn't add creamer or milk and instead replaced them with honey and some squeezed lemon juice.
I also got a glass of water and some Advil for her, which she happily drank and took without hesitation. I put a cold wash cloth on her forehead, she thanked me for it.
"I have some fruit salad in the fridge for you to eat. I'll be right back," I said, quickly racing off to get it. I made sure to grab a fork so she wouldn't get sticky fingers.
"You're the absolute best Ari, I owe you."
"You don't owe me anything. I'd much rather do this for you, than for you to feel icky."
"Just say it- 'feel like shit'. It's not like it'll make you a bad person."
"Cass, you know I don't like swearing. Besides, I know it doesn't make me a bad person, it's unlady like," I responded, matter-of-factly.
She shook her head in disbelief and went back to eating her fruit salad, commenting on how 'delicious' it tasted every so often.
"Feeling better ?" I asked.
"Yes," She bluntly said, with a mouthful of strawberries.
-
"I say, since I feel better, we head to the beach and catch some vitamin D."
"I'm not sure, I-I don't like the beach," I muttered, not being able to picture myself in a bikini and dealing with all the stares.
"Oh come on Ari. Get your cute little ass into your bedroom and get your rocking body to the beach!"
I bit my lip, not knowing if she was complimenting me or insulting me. Either way, I didn't like it. If she's being nice, do I say thank you? If she's being nasty, do I just ignore it? Huh, I'm not good at socialising, even with my bestfriend. I guess that's why we're so close; opposites attract.
"Fine, but give me an extra five minutes, I need to find my sunscreen."
"A little sun wont hurt you," She stayed.
"I'm not going to take any chances," I said as politely as I could, not wanting to sound rude.
"Whatever, just go get ready! I'm excited and don't want to waste time."
I nodded my head and went back into my room. I never go to the beach, so my bikini collection was quite minimal. I grabbed out a white two piece. The top of it was a twist bandeau like style and had no straps. The bottoms were just normal, they'd sit in the middle of my hips and cover my butt and other... precious parts.
At least going to the beach will make Cassidy happy. I can't deal with all the staring and judging everyone does. Why can't everyone just mind their own business? Spread love, not hate.
Once I had my bikini on, I put a loose pink shirt and denim shorts over the top with some nude sandles. I kept my hair up in a messy bun and didn't bother with makeup.
As I was collecting my thumbs, my phone started ringing. The safe feeling from last night engulfed me, only worsening when I saw my phone read 'No Caller ID'.
"H-Hello ?" I answered, in a shaky voice.
"Babe, change your bikini. Too many people will stare. I don't feel like hurting anyon-"
Before whoever this man was could continue, I hung up from the sheer fear radiating throughout my body. Whatever else he wanted to say, didn't want to be heard.
How would he know what I'm wearing? Turning around, I seen my curtains open, which made me gasp. I always clothes them before bed, I certainly didn't open them when I woke up.
My door suddenly slammed open, making me jump in fright. My poor heart, one of these days it'll give in, I tell ya'.
When I turned around in a hurry, Cassidy stood there in the doorway with an odd look on her face.
"You look like you've seen a ghost. Anyways, come on! Let's go, you're keeping me waiting."
Ignoring whatever just happens, I grabbed all my stuff and headed off to the beach with Cassidy.
Whatever is going on, I don't like it. But I don't know what to do. I can't go to the cops, what will I say? I have someone scaring me and have no proof. They'd think I'm bluffing.
Thank you for all the support and love x
