"I can't help, falling in love with you."

Ariana

With a pounding headache, I sat up, groaning in pain. My eyes fluttered open, seeing Jason standing at the end of the bed, looking into a mirror while adjusting a shirt.

"What are you doing?" I asked in confusion. What was he doing in the same room as me while I slept?

"Good, you're awake. Listen, we have some business to do at a club and I'm not leaving you here alone with everyone. Go have a shower and get ready. I'll put some clothes on the bed for you," Before I could protest, he held up a finger.

"After seeing you cuddle up with another man, I'm not too happy so don't bother fighting it. You are coming, end of discussion."

With a loud sigh of defeat, I rose from the bed. Just as I was about to ask where a bathroom was, he pointed to the door at the left of the room. I held a grumpy frown on my face as I headed inside.

The hot water splattering on my back was my like heaven. All of my muscles relaxed at the much needed pamper. Once I quickly cleaned my body and washed my hair using Jason's shampoo, I shut the water off and stepped out onto the mat. The towel was tightly wrapped around my body, drying most of my torso.

On the bench beside the sink, I noticed some girl products. There was deodorant, perfume and makeup.

"Hey Jason!" I called out. There was a knock on the door before I opened.

"Yeah? What's up?"

"Who's is this?" I asked, gesturing to all the products before me.

"It's Lexi's. She said that if you were going with us tonight, you'd have to look the part so just do whatever you need to do."

I took a deep breath in and ignored his rude demeanour. Within minutes, I had some makeup done and my hair dried, up and styled.

Before entering the bedroom again, I adjusted the towel so it was more secure. It would be very embarrassing if I flashed anything, especially to Jason.

"Hurry up Ariana, we need to leave," He said, his voice deep as he sat on the edge of the bed with phone in his hands.

Within a limited amount of time, I had managed to get changed into the clothes left for me to wear and get myself ready.

"Does this look okay?" I asked, turning in the mirror, inspecting the skin-tight piece of material.

"Yeah it's- woah," He slurred out, I turned around, seeing him staring at me with wide eyes.

"Ari, you look so se- you look beautiful," He corrected, not bothering to hide the fact that he was eyeing me off.

"You look good to, but, you forgot to do up a button and fix your collar," I stepped close to him, pulling at his shirt so I could adjust it for him.

"There you go," I pat his chest.

"Let's get your sweet little ass into the car," I couldn't help but role my eyes at his expected statement.

Boys these days...

-

I groaned as yet another person bumped into me, almost knocking me to the floor. It took a moment before I regained balance. My arms were folded protectively over my chest as I felt very out of place and slightly insecure.

I wasn't doubting that I didn't look good, because I thought I did. I just didn't exactly mix in with these people. It's not like I have a choice, but that's beside the point.

"Oh my goodness," I cried out, feeling someone drop their drink all over my legs.

"I'm so sorry-"

"You fucking better be. Get the fuck away from my girl," I heard Jason spit behind me.

He placed one arm over my shoulders, pulling me into his side. As much as I didn't want to, I hugged tightly into him, not wanting anyone else to touch me.

"I forgot how little you were. Sorry, I shouldn't have let you walk off," He said, I just nodded.

"Have I told you that you look beautiful yet?" His lips pecked my head just after he spoke.

"Indeed you have. These compliments don't give you browny points by the way," I clarified.

"I'm aware, you're a hard girl to win. That doesn't mean I'll ever stop telling you."

I wanted to turn around and walk away from him, I really did. But another part of me stopped and thought deeply about what he said. He'll never stop telling me I'm beautiful. Can you hear the fluttering of butterflies in my belly?

"I don't like it very much when you swear," My eyes travelled up to his face, watching as he lead me carefully to wherever we were going. Every so often, he'd push someone out of the way before they could get within a foot of me.

"I know, I'm sorry. It's just part of my nature. When I'm mad or doing business, it just comes out. I promise I'll try and not speak so hastily around you."

Jason, I and whoever else was trenching behind us were placed into a large booth. Jason chose to sit against the wall and pull me down with him. I was mistaken when I thought I was going to plop onto the seat, instead I landed on his lap.

"The people were meeting are dangerous. If your close to me, I can protect you."

But, I can be close to you with sitting on you. I would never dare say that to his face, just because of how unpredictable he is.

We waited for a while, which was enough time for drinks to be ordered and delivered by one of the bar staff. Jason had a brown drink in his has, sipping on it like I would with milk.

The strong smell was suffocating, almost making me chock. I absolutely hated the reeking stench of alcohol. It was just so... dirty to me.

I felt Jason's arm that was around my waist tense, as he placed the glass cup onto the table in front of us.

"McCann, nice to see you."

I looked up, along with all of Jason's guys, only to meet eyes with an older man who had greying brown hair and piercing brown eyes. His features seemed all too familiar. I felt beyond uncomfortable under his scrutiny. I shuffled a little, placing my hand on top of Jason's under the table. He squeezed it, letting me know he knew what was going on.

"I wish I could say the same, uncle."
