Ariana

"Ariana, we're here. Wake up," I heard Trent's soft, gentle voice say.

Lifting my head off his shoulder, I noticed we were the only ones in the vehicle still. I looked out the window, seeing that we were at what looked like an old warehouse in the middle of no where.

"It doesn't look like much on the outside, it's like that to conceal everything on the inside," He stated, helping me step down and out of the car.

He lead me towards the entrance, where everyone else stood, waiting for Jason to say something.

"Everyone, listen up!" He shouted, his voice full of power and superiority.

"There are expectations that have to be met or you'll be kicked out. Once we go inside, feel free to explore and use anything you want. I want you to be mindful that there will be a lot of people in a confined space, so don't act like dickheads. Don't fight. Don't break anything. You may enter," Was all he said, gesturing for them to follow him inside.

I gasped at the sight before me once Trent and I had walked through the wooden, barn like doors. Hanging on almost every wall, was a weapon; some I knew, some I didn't. In one corner, there were foam bodies with targets on them. In another, there was a ring. The worst part about it, is that there were people already here using all the equipment.

Stepping away from everyone, I walked over to one of the walls. There were different assortments of knives hanging on hooks. Below them, was a table of smaller knives that I couldn't help but be curious about.

I reached down and picked up a small, shiny and unused blade. The silver was so blemish free, I could see myself in the reflection.

"Be careful little girl," A voice behind me said. I turned on my heels to see a girl with long, blonde hair and round facial features standing there with her arms crossed.

"Excuse me?" I asked, my eyebrows furrowed in confusion.

"Let me clarify. By the look of your wimpy arms and dainty hands, you're not apart of... this," As she spoke, she stepped closer to me. Her hands reached out and took the object off me, placing it back down on the table.

"Perfectly manicured nails, not a single scar on your body, pretty pink clothes... Something tells me your Jason's girl. He'd have my head on a stick if you accidentally cut yourself in my zone," Her voice was sharp yet soothing to listen to.

"I'm not his girl," I mumbled, looking down at my feet.

"That's something his girl, who's in denial, would say," She states firmly.

I didn't reply, just sigh in defeat. I couldn't stick up for myself against her. She could probably hurt me far worse than what I could ever imagine. I'm not taking that chance.

As we stood there in awkward silence, my eyes once again roamed around the room. All these weapons are used to kill people- innocent people. What if I accidentally knocked one, I could get hurt. If I leant too hard against this table, a knife would slip off and end up in my foot.

With short, sharp breaths, I stepped back. I looked at the girl with blonde hair who watched me with weary eyes, not understanding what I was doing.

I felt tears prick the brim of my eyes. I blinked rapidly, trying to get rid of them but I couldn't. I felt my throat constrict and my stomach fill up with a sick feeling.

"Lexi! What did you do?!" I heard Trent's voice ask loudly.

Feeling a hand on my arm as I slid to the floor, I closed my eyes. I tried to take deep, slow breaths but I couldn't. My body was attacking me.

"Ari, Ari! Listen to my voice, I need you to open your eyes," He ordered, his hands holding my face as I fell into hysterics. My eyes fluttered, but nothing happened.

"Come on Ari, please. I need you to look at me," With his pleads, I was able to force my eyes open. My brown eyes met his, instantly becoming slightly calmer.

"Breath through your nose and out your mouth," He added, doing it himself.

"Ready? 1, 2, 3!" I mimicked his breathing pattern. I felt my throat and chest lighten as I was no longer fighting for oxygen.

"No more crying, no more tears," His thumbs wiped under my eyes.

He sat beside me and pulled me into his chest, holding my head down. My arms wrapped around his torso, finding comfort in the warmth of his body.

"You're okay, nothing will happen to you, I won't let it," He hushed into my ear, making my eyes close at the calmness of his voice.

"You just need to stay strong. I know it's hard darling, I know. But I will get you out of this," He muttered, barely audible.

"What is going on?" Jason's loud, aggravated voice suddenly shouted. My body whimpered against Trent's.

"I don't know! She touched a knife then started like- freaking out!" The girl from before said.

"Shut up Lexi. Trent, what happened and why are you hugging my girl like that?"

"Jason, she shouldn't be here. This isn't a place for a girl like her. I think she had a panic or anxiety attack," Trent's voice vibrated his chest, making me once again calm down.

"I'm not trying anything with her, I promise you. She just needed help. She needs someone to keep her calm. Sometimes you're a little rough with her so I think she needs to be able to have a friend other than you," He added.

"Whatever. Just don't touch her in a way I wouldn't like. Don't speak to her lovingly. I'll find a friend for her because I certainly am not going to allow it to be you. Once she's settled, take her to the bedrooms upstairs. You'll know which ones mine," With that,
I heard footsteps fade away, signally Jason had left.

Thank gosh. Just being in the presence of that man sends chills down my spine.
