To say I was terrified, would be an understatement. We were currently hit behind a dumpster, listening to the multiple sirens speeding past.
We had been stuck here for a few hours, waiting. We apparently got advised not to move by Jason. Speaking of which, should be here any time now. As if on cue, I heard the screeching of tires.
"Stay here," Tony said, stepping out from hiding to investigate who arrived.
"Where the fuck is she?!"
"She's over-"
Before his question could be answered, loud footsteps trenched towards me. When I saw Jason standing there, I quivered and I wasn't sure if it was relief or fear.
He leant down and grabbed my hand, yanking me up and pulling me into his arms. I placed my head against his chest, feeling it heave with each breath he took.
"I can't leave you anywhere, can I?" He asked. I couldn't tell if he was being serious or sarcastic.
Remembering that he did in fact, leave me, I pushed off him with all the might my weak arms had.
"If you didn't leave me here to be miserable, this wouldn't have happened!" I crossed my arms over my chest and couldn't help but frown.
"You kept begging to leave!"
"I just- You dragged me into all of this, now it's too late for me to leave it behind. People are coming after me!"
"I know baby, I'm doing all I can to make sure they don't touch you."
"I wouldn't be so miserable if you had just left me alone," I said, finally feeling defeated.
"Just- Get in my car. We'll talk about this later. Thank you gentlemen for your services. You and the others at the house are finished."

The car ride was silent, other than Jason's little compliment about my hair, which I ignored anyway. I sat there, looking out the window the entire time, simply refusing to look him in the eyes.
Once we had arrived at a new destination, I didn't hesitate to jump out of the car, slamming the door shut behind me.
"Excuse me, I would appreciate if you didn't act so hostilely towards my car. It's one of a kind," Jason said, trailing far too close behind me.
"You think I care about a stupid car? Jason, I want my life back. You took away everything I had. So I apologise if I can't help but be angry and frustrated. I get pulled around like some toy, with no choice but to obey everything I'm told to do. Because, if I don't, my life is put on the line. Mind you, that is no fault of my own, it is yours! Why couldn't you be selfless enough to let me live my life, and my my own decisions and give me the freedom I yearn for! All I've ever wanted was to build a happy life for myself. You've taken away all my opportunities of doing that. I am now dependent on you to keep me alive," I blurted out, running a hand through my messy locks in complete and utter frustration.
"I am not sorry that I am selfish and took you. But, I will not apologise for protecting you. Are you forgetting that I would risk my own life to save yours?" He retorted back.
"You do not protect me! You put me in this predicament!"
"And when it all blows over, love, I plan to open up the world for you. Do you really think I'd drag you into a lifestyle, where I thought it wasn't possible to offer you everything I can give? I took you, because a girl like you would never look twice at someone as troubled as me. When this is all over, I'll- I'll- I don't know! I'll take you to Europe, we can go see the Buckingham palace for all I care. If you don't like Europe, we'll try Australia. I'll give you everything you want and everything you need. You like that Gucci bag? You'll have it on your shoulder before I even swipe my card. Do you not understand what I am offering you?!"
"You way you'll give me everything, correct? Give me my life back. I don't care about some overpriced Gucci bag. That goes to show how little you know me. I'd rather a cheap bag from target that does the same thing."
"Ariana, I don't have time for this right now. You either go inside or you sleep on these steps. Ps, they are predicting rain and a storm tonight."
With one last huff, I stopped my foot and opened the doors to the building he had situated us in. It was set up like a motel. However, by the look of secrecy and smugness of the workers walking around, I could tell that it was more than just some motel. Perhaps, a place for criminals and freaks for Jason to stay.
Soon enough, I found myself trenching behind Jason as he lead us to a room. This place didn't have multiple floors. It was set up almost like a college. However, the interior of the rooms completely diminished the outside.
Walking into the building, you'd think it be a regularly, cheap place for a short stay. Perhaps where families would spend a night on a long road trip. The room I entered, was almost fit for a queen. Almost. Only, I wasn't a queen and Jason certainly wasn't a king.
"We have booked out the entire place. Everyone is staying here also. I have organised multiple men to do patrols of the premises. We are safe for now. The owner owed me a favour, so he doesn't mind. He was sworn to secrecy of our location. I wished harm upon his family if he were to disclose that we are here."
I sighed, not caring if it were audible. Jason genuinely thought that he was doing the right thing. How do I get through his head, that it isn't? I couldn't help but think, that maybe this was Jason's 'normal'. Maybe he didn't know right from wrong.
I predict I'm about to spend a lot of time with Jason. So why not get to the bottom of why he is, the way he is? I have nothing better to do.

Ariana thought life couldn't get any worse for her at the moment. If only she knew what the future held... She wouldn't have spoken so soon.
