I knew me coming home would be conditional. I was stupid to think that Jason would just give me freedom so easily.

Every door of my residence, had a man standing on guard. I wasn't able to shower, pee or sleep without them knowing. They were always there and had been for the last two weeks I had been home. They hadn't left me alone, especially in comparison to Jason who I hadn't heard a thing from.

Today, I decided that rather than being cooped up inside, I would venture out. After everything that's happened, this place doesn't feel like home anymore. I feel misplaced. It just isn't the same.

So, here I stood in my bathroom, making myself look presentable. After finishing up with brushing my hair and teeth, I went to my bed and lifted up my mattress, pulling out the money I had stashed there. I then tucked it into my jeans pocket. With swift steps, I made my way towards the front door.

"Miss Grande, may I ask where your heading?" The man at the door asked, putting his arm out to stop me from walking any further.

"Just out and about. I want to get out of the house."

His hand retracted, only to press into his ear before he spoke.

"Tony, page in," His voice spoke.

"Yes boss?" Another man was heard talking, obviously through their mic's. I almost rolled my eyes at the excessiveness.

"Subject is leaving the premises. I've been advised that the two of us must guard her. We are at the front entrance."

Within seconds, another man was standing here. They both wore all black, looking very suspicious. It'll look worse as they walk along with me.

It took us roughly twenty minutes on foot to finally arrive in town. I had no idea what I wanted to do, I just needed to get out. The two guards were respectful and kept their distance, however remained close enough to always know what I was doing.

Whenever I'd walk into a boutique or store, they would follow. It bewildered me that no one noticed them, or if they did, they didn't say anything.

However, one place caught my eye in particular. The aesthetically pleasing black and white themed hair salon definitely caught my attention. Although, it was the model with luscious, long and blonde locks that drew me forward. Before I knew it, I had walked into the doors, being greeted with a desk, that was exceptionally organised.

"Miss Grande, I don't mean to sound rude, but isn't there some girl code about hair? Something along the lines of, 'if you're having a melt down, leave your hair alone'," The 'boss' guard, who's name I was still yet to learn, spoke from behind me.

"Do I look like I'm having a melt down? No!" I couldn't help but retort back.

"Hi! Welcome to Devine. We provide spa treatments, makeup and hair styles, as well as hair colours and cuts! How may I be of service to you?" A women's voice caught my attention.

"Hello, I'm kind of making a spur of the moment decision. I just really want to change my hair, however I haven't thought of how. Please help me?" I asked softly, kind of joking with her.

"Luckily for you, we had a cancellation. Sit in the first seat on the left side. I'll send someone over who'll be with you soon!"

With a nod, I proceeded to take her instructions and took my seat.

"Miss Grande, are you sure? We wouldn't want to displease Jason."

"If Jason really cared, he would be here and not have me acting like a prisoner. Now unless he shows up to stop me, which he wouldn't do anyway, I'm proceeding with my decision. You can sit and wait and watch, or leave."

"Unfortunately we are unable to leave," Was all he said back.

I felt rude being so hostile towards them, but I had a lot of built up frustration against Jason. He isn't here so I can't take it out on him. But I know that whatever I say to the guards, will get back to him regardless.

"Hello! What are we looking at doing today?" A hairdresser, with a name tag reading 'Bethany', said.

"Honestly, what caught my attention, was that," I then pointed at the image of the model I saw as I had approached the building.

With careful hands, she removed the hair tie from my hair. My locks cascaded down my back, looking longer and healthier than ever. I did get a sudden rush of nerves, however Bethany's look of determination calmed me.

"I'll see what I can do, hunny."

Hours later, I found myself looking into a mirror, running my fingers through my hair vigorously. Going from brunette to blonde was definitely a big change, yet I loved it. The way it contrasted with my tan, olive toned skin, gave me a boost of confidence that I didn't know I had. My dark features definitely stood out.

"Miss Grande, Tony paid already. We are free to go."

It had taken hours to get my hair like this, it was almost completely dark out. Once I had thanked the lovely lady's in the shop, I left with the guards either side of me.

We had been walking for a few minutes, when I suddenly heard the screeching of tires coming down the street. The speed of the vehicle was indefinitely given away.

At the same time the car came speeding past, Tony received a text. As soon as he read it, his eyes widened before showing his boss. The both looked down at me, grabbing my hands.

"Run!"

The car that sped past us, came to an abrupt stop. Five people peeled from the car. I gasped in horror and shock when weapons were aimed in my direction. Within seconds, the sound of bullets were emitted into the air. I was instantly pulled to the ground, with two heavy weights covering my body.

There was a pause in gun fire, giving the boys time to drag me off the street and into an alleyway. Panting, they yanked me along, running in the complete opposite direction to the shooters.

"This alley leads to the next street. When we come out the other side, there should be another alleyway a few buildings up across the road. If we get there without them seeing us, we can wait for backup!" Tony had spoken, or yelled, I wasn't too sure at the moment.

My chest was pounding against my rib cage. I was in a state of complete terror, too scared to fully comprehend what was going on.

"I knew she should've stayed inside! They would've recognised her by hacking cameras!"

"I don't care about that. Even if we get her out of this unscathed, Jason will kill us!"
