A/N: That's a picture of Felix from Stray Kids by the way. He's Saeyoung's adopted brother in this story. And P.S I have no idea when is the specific day Korean school year begins but according to research, it's somewhere around late August.

"Hey Mark, are we a group or do you want to be with someone else?" Felix questioned the foreigner with a tilt of his head. Minji looked up at the sound of his name and her impassive onyx orbs made contact with warm, caramel doe eyes.

"I don't mind being in a group with you three," Mark answered bashfully, breaking eye contact with the ravenette to face Felix.

Minji swivelled her head towards her male friend, a protest tumbling from her lips, "Can I just be partners with one of you? I prefer if I could do it alone but it's compulsory to have partners or be in a group so I have no choice but to at least work with one person. The less the merrier for me."

A faint trace of disappointment appeared on Mark's face because of Minji's indirect rejection but he made no comment about it.

Saeyoung gave Mark a side-glance.

"It's okay," the dark-skinned girl chirruped, linking her arm with Felix who shot her a mixed look of surprise and disgust. "I wanna partner up with my best bro anyways."

"Why the fuck would I_" Felix was rudely cut off when a sharp jab was delivered to his ribs by Saeyoung who glared at him with a strained smile still plastered on her face.

Wincing, Felix's eyes darted from Saeyoung to Minji and Mark nervously before catching onto the underlying intention behind his sister's words.

"I mean, why would I not want to partner up with my beloved sister?" Felix quickly fixed his mistake, adding in a forced laugh to make his enthusiasm seem more believable.

Saeyoung nodded slightly in satisfaction before throwing a knowing wink at Minji.

"But Saeyoung, who else am I supposed to be with?" Minji's face scrunched up in bafflement.

'Why did she wink at me?' The younger girl glanced at Saeyoung, a shiver of apprehension tingling her skin. 'It can't be anything good if she winks at me.'

Meanwhile, Saeyoung was tempted to facepalm at that moment.

'Bitch, are you dumb?' Saeyoung thought to herself, unimpressed by her friend's oblivious behaviour.

"Well, Mark is currently partnerless and so are you! Oh my, what a coincidence. Guess you guys gotta be partners," Saeyoung exclaimed in a faux, eager tone before rolling her eyes. "Girl, use that brain of yours for once. I'm taken by Felix so you obviously have to go with Mark."
