Ingrid
The next few days were intresting. Calum has practicly been living at the Cliffords house. My mom woke me up.
"Morning darling."
"Hi? Your never nice or caring? DID JESS DIE.....AGAIN!!!" She began to laugh.
"No honey." She smiled. I swung my legs over the bed.
"Then what?"
"Nothing. I was just wondering if you prefered blue berry of choclate chip pancakes."
"What..."
"Or do you like plain?"
"Um..."
"What honey?"
"Nothing. Choclate chip?" I shrugged.
"Okay. Get ready for the day. Meet me and your father downstairs in 10 minutes." She smiled sweetly and left my room to go downstairs. What just happened... I stand up and walk to my closet. Um, what to wear I guess? My moms niceness was starting to scare me. I put on a white sundress. This is nice, right? I braid my hair and walk down the stairs.
"Mom? Dad?" I called.
"In here honey!" My mom called from the kitchen. I walked in to see my dad reading a artical that Jess wrote. It was about the big Fluke invasion.
"Your little friend has a way with words. Was this one the dead one?" I sighed flopping into a chair.
"Yes dad. Her name is Jess."
"Ah. Well, Jess wrote this artical beautifly."
"I know!" I smile, proud of my strange friend. 2 really big choclate chip pancakes were flopped onto my plate. "Thanks mom."
"No need to thank me. We invited your friends over to go swimming at around 3." I looked to see that the clock. 11.
"Who? Exactly."
"Um, Ashton, uh...Alex? Yeah. Heather, Carl?"
"Carl?" I repeated.
"Ca-ca... what was his name..."
"Calum?" I question.
"Yes Calum. And Jess."
"Well thats about all of them. All 5 of them..." I glared at my cast-less arm.
"Why do you only have 5 friends?" My father Qestioned.
"Becasue I am the weird girls with no friends that everyone picks on."
"And why are you weird?" He continued to ask while reading Jess's artical.
"Because. I just am. I dont know? I mean you people are never around. And when you are, you dont care at all. You just throw rich people parties and ignor me." I breathed heavily. He slamed the paper down.
"Us people? We are your parents! We throw parties because we are rich. This town is not! Thats why when we move you will have more friends! Because we are moving to a rich neighborhood!" He yelled.
"JOSEPH!" My mother yelled, hitting a dirty pan against the sink.
"Were moving!?!"
"Honey. Your father wasnt supposed to tell you until after the party. Thats why we are having your friends over. You know, to have some nice memories." My mom said attempting to calm us down.
"How much time do we have left?"
"A week." She said no looking away from the dirty pot.
"But. Can I stay with Yevett? Because you think she would move with us. No!"
"No. Yevett is going back to France."
"What... Why?"
"Her mother needs help getting round."
Have you ever had a terrible feeling. Ya know. That one where it feels like you insides are getting squeezed out and the room was closing in. And you couldn't do anything. The only thing you wanted and could do was cry. Thats how I felt.
But my parents wouldnt understand.
They never do.
"But..." I finally breath.
"No buts, now go clean the deck up." My father demanded. I got up and walked toward the stairs. "The deck is the other way."
"I was going to change into my swim suit first." I mumbled and continued up the stairs.
That explains why she was being so nice. I knew, I knew there was some evil twist. The always is with them. Like the last time they had a party and I was locked up in the attic. It was MY birthday. They felt bad so they got me a parrot. And then I had to give it away. Because I am apparently alergic to tropical birds. The best birthday gift is always a rash and a parrot who was not nammed Polly and he did not like crackers.
I changed into a random bikini and I put my sundress back on. I fell back onto my bed. How am I going to tell them? Yeah 'We saved the town and watched Jess be legaly dead for 10 minutes only to have a super power of controlling lightning but I have to go and never see you again.' Yeah, that sound great. I stared at my blank blue wall. The wall above my dresser. I remembered Jess's cameras and her photo hearts. I looked at my phone that lied next to me. I picked it up and Jess. She picked up. "Hey Jess."
"Oh. Hey Ingrid. Hold on." I heard her say 'its Ingrid'. "Hey. Your mom called earlier. Im coming over later!"
"Yeah! I know, everyone is." I chuckled.
"Soooo why ya callin?"
"Bring over your camera. Will take pictures." She started to laugh. "What."
"No I found out that Calums like photos...a lot." She laughed.
"Really?"
"Yeah."
"Okay then? Well I gotta go, see you later?"
"Okay! See you then! Bye!"
"Bye." She hung up. I stared back at my wall.
"Oh yeah Im moving." I mumbled to myself, still in dis-belief.
I knew my parents were mean.
But how could they be that crule...
WELL. THATS NOT COOL MAN. WHERE AM I GOING WITH THIS???
