O 9 | The Fights
"What's else in there?", asked Hope from the other edge of the cave.
Peter was digging over the chest and pulled a sword. "Just some weapons."
"Then we can fight the army.", she replied turning around and facing others. They looked at her strangely following her steps to the wall. "These cravings present some kind of war.", Hope continued turning to the wall and passing her hand over them.
The second of them shoved sword in the chest of one man who was at the ground. Others were presenting a girl, at many places - fighting with bow and arrow or a sword and being crowned. The Pevensie's looked at each others and later at Caspian and Eustace. They were all behind Hope, who still had her hair untied.
"What do you think who is this?", asked Peter his sibilings and friends. They shook heads, not knowing the answer.
"We know it's a girl, at least.", Lucy comforted them, realising the fact that they are clueless as she smiled a bit.
"We must fight!", Hope repeated, turning around to them (by doing that, she hit Eustace and Edmund with her hair).
"Well, we do have swords and bows and arrows.", said Susan agreeing with Hope - who already walked away to the chest and picked something up.
"Can you teach me?", asked Hope holding a bow in her right hand.
Susan smiled, coming by her side. "Of course." Susan took another bow and few arrows and they went outside laughing and talking.
"You should practice, too!", Hope came back in the cave to tell them that and smiled. She returned to Susan and she shoved her the way she fires the arrows.
Hope carefully looked every second of her doing it. She also tried, but the first arrow fall at the ground in front of her. "It didn't even fly!", she acted sadness but couldn't hide the laugh. She sat on her knees to take the arrow back.
"Stand upright and place your feet shoulder-width apart. When your ready, pull a string back and make sure your body forms a letter T.", Susan narrated and Hope nodded. " Now,", she said silently with a pause. "Shout!", she added making Hope do as she told. Hope fired an arrow and she hit her target - the tree (the only one alive in there) -, but not straight in the middle.
"I did it.", Hope said puting her right hand at side (the one that was holding a bow). "I can't believe!", she continued to scream and hugged Susan. "Thank you!"
Susan smiled gently leaving her hug. "What's that noise?", asked deep voice behind them making both girls turn their heads.
"Edmund,", Hope gasped looking at him. "Susan thaugh me to shoot an arrow!", she replied with a smile on her face.
The boy leaned his back at the front wall of the cave and looked at the younger brunette, smiling. "What are others doing?", Susan's question breaked the silence and staring contest between Edmund and Hope.
"Uh, Peter and Caspian are practicing, and Eustace is complaining.", he said coming a bit closer to the girls. "You wanna learn to sword - fight?", he asked Hope.
"Well,", she hesitated looking at Susan who nodded. "Why not.", Hope added and smiled at the boy.
He stood in front of her and offered a hand. "So, are you coming?", he asked and she put her hand on his offered and they walked to the cave.
They got into the cave, with Susan following, and saw Caspian and Peter fighting. It must've been a long fight. , she thought as they moved a side to not get hurt. "We have a new student.", Edmund stopped their little fight referring to Hope, and she smiled shoving off her pearl white theet.
"Who will have a pleasure of killing me with that - ", she said and all of them laugh as she stopped. "Simply that.", she added pointing at the sword.
"Well not pleasure,", started Peter as he was trying to come up with the correct competitor. "Eustace!", he yelled to say the name of the rival and to call the boy.
"Yes?", he asked when he came to the crowd.
"You'll be sword - fighting with Hope.", Peter presented his words to him as he looked at Hope annoyingly. The girl started to bite her lower lip - as she always does when she's nervous.
"Take the sword.", Edmund handed her a sword with these words and she mumbled something.
"Yeah, I'll need that.", she whispered. "Wait, how do I know what to do?", she said in panic looking at Edmund's brown eyes.
"Just do whatever comes to your mind.", Edmund comforted her. "Just don't kill each other!", he whisper - yelled as she stepped out few feets front.
The swords started to clash over each other, with gasps of surprise leaving audience's lips. Hope was unbelievably good, claiming that she had never done any of the fights with sword.
- To not continue describing the fight, because I don't know many things about sword - fighting, I'll just say that both competitors avoided injuries and hits but still attacked very good. -
The fight ended with Hope striking her sword against Eustace's and leaning it back. Girl's sword's pressure worked on boy's sword and his flew away from him - to his left side.
Hope raised her hand victoriously throwing the sword at the ground. "I win!", she said calmly and took the sword from the ground and gave it back to Edmund, whispering thank you.
"But how?", Eustace mumbled angry. "She's a girl!", he claimed when Hope turned around to face him.
"He's done.", Lucy whispered to her sister beside her as she saw angry look on Hope's face.
"I'm a girl? Is that an offence?", she said walking to him, which made him walk back.
"No, I didn't mea-", he started with apologies but she cut off his words.
"Yes, you said that I'm a girl. With offensive tone.", Hope continued walking and giving a lesson to Eustace, who got to the wall. "Well, I am a girl.", she said with a smile that terrified others. "But better than you think.", her serious tone came back.
"Fine, I'm sorry.", he screamed when she came few steps back.
"No, no, it's totally okay. I'm just fighting for my rights. And I'll make sure you learn them.", Hope added with strong voice putting her hair behind her ear. She turned around to face others, hitting Eustace with her hair. "So, what do we do now?"
