CHAPTER TWELVE

I 2 | The War

While Lucy was away to bring an army from Narnia, Hope was left in the Dead Wood with others. But the task she got is everything but simple. They can not leave the cave, as by doing that they will spot the portal that is left open.

Her only idea was to ask Caspian to tell them a story about the Dawn Treader as he did it. While listening to his story, Hope felt some kind of force traveling through her body and sucking the energy out of her. Her heart began to beat faster and her breath stronger. She felt like you feel during a sleep paralysis, like something was pressed into her chest. Her eyes were going dark and at the moment she got up to stand - with everybody's eyes on her body - she felt weak behind her knees. Her body fell on the ground aside.

Her friends thought it's a fake fall, like the one before and did think of it as a joke.

"Maybe we should call Lucy!", Edmund joked remembering thing what make her got up firstly.

Seeing she's not waking up, they gathered around her. Her heartbeat was slow, as it's rare beating was the only noise heard. Until the dead silent was broken with hard footsteps. Peter and Caspian got into standing position and hold onto their swords - still in the belt. Suddenly, at the entrance of the cave appeared Lucy with a smile on her face.

"What are you all waiting there for?", she asked satisfied laughing, showing at the army of centaurs behind her.

Peter and Caspian moved aside letting Lucy to see Hope laying on ground. Her body was peaceful, she wasn't moving and she was barely breathing. The youngest Pevensie ran up to her side and took her fire - flower juice. She gently opened girl's lips with her right hand and poured a dip of coridial. Everyone gathered around her as she was still laying on the ground, not moving.

The little girl next to her reliesed one tear fall over her cheek and others felt sad at the edge of the cry. The peaceful body was almost left by her soul as the healing coridial worked through her. She felt attack of adrenaline rushing through her veins and her heartbeat got faster. When they thought she's gone, Hope raised her upper body part and gasped for air.

The Pevensie's, Caspian and Eustace were glade she's alive without hurt. The girl started breathing fast as her lungs were reaching air. "You're okay.", she gasped - when she had enough amount of air - talking to the youngest of them.

She hugged Lucy. "No, you're okay.", Lucy imitated her statement with a laugh of relief. Both girls left their hug and got up, Hope still felt a bit dizzy. Luckily, Susan came to her side and held her side.

"You got the army.", Hope whispered with a small laughter. Lucy nodded.

"We thought it's a fake fall again.", Edmund said through a joke with a laugh following.
