As Midoriya walked towards the bus stop, he heard screams in the distance.
His head snapped towards the sound and he immediately ran toward the noise. He ran over one block and turned the corner. There, he saw a group of people were surrounding something that was making the sound.
He ran up close and saw someone literally crushed underneath a pile of construction material. Blonde hair sprayed out in all different directions and the girl was groaning in pain. Any other sound was blocked out by Midoriya's pounding heart. He knew exactly what to do.
"One For All...Full Cowling!" He yelled as green flashes of electricity surrounded him. He jumped over the crowd of people and next to the girl. He was sure to use his legs this time, not wanting his arms to take unnecessary strain.
His leg went down upon the pile of rocks and wooden planks, which all scattered and dispersed from the impact. Everyone around him was cheering as he lifted the blonde to her feet, holding her steady.
"I need to get you to a hospital," he ordered.
Someone spoke up, pointing to a truck in the clearing, "There's an ambulance!"
Midoriya thanked the person and gently lifted the brown-eyed girl into his arms. He put a hand on her back, and an arm underneath her legs and jumped towards the ambulance.
Midoriya saw the ambulance stop and a group of people rushed out, grabbing the girl and laying her on the roller bed. She met Midoriya's eyes and weakly brought her hand up to usher him towards her. Midoriya stepped inside the ambulance.
"Are you okay?"
The girl- no, teenager, was looking at him, her brown eyes filled with warmth. "Y-Yes, thank you so much for everything," her breathing was labored and her golden hair messed up from the fall.
She seemed to be the same age as him, he couldn't help but notice she had a UA badge on her denim jacket.
"You go to UA?"
She looked down at her jacket and shook her head, "No, but I'm going to in a few months."
This meant she was just a year younger than him. Midoriya smiled at her warmly, "I'll look forward to seeing you there, then!"
He was about to step outside of the ambulance before she called, "Wait!"
Midoriya stopped in his tracks and turned to face her. She was blushing really deeply. "I need to show you how much I thank you for what you did for me..." She said softly and leaned in. She pressed her lips on his freckled cheek and Midoriya's eyes widened. He stiffened, but let her kiss him. It was not like he could push her away, she just got hurt. She pulled away, her brown eyes sparkling. "See you there, then."
Midoriya jumped out of the ambulance, landing on the ground. People cheered for him, "A UA student just saved a person who was about to be crushed to death by construction material!" A news reporter spoke into the microphone. They filmed him blushing for a second until he hopped away.
What if his mom saw him and thought he tried to risk his life again? Midoriya needed to get away from the cameras so he ran. He kept looking behind him, so he didn't have time to realize that someone was right in front of him. He slammed into another body, flying towards the pavement. All he could feel was the throbbing of his head before he heard a familiar voice say, "Ouch, Midoriya."
"Todoroki-kun?!"
The taller boy stared at him worriedly. "Midoriya, what happened over there?"
Midoriya glanced back towards the smoke rising in the air behind the corridor. He watched as the ambulance that carried the girl drove by him. He ran a hand through his hair nervously, "A girl almost our age was being crushed under a pile of construction material that fell. I, as usual, moved before I had time to think. I used my quirk to get her out and then the ambulance took her. Wait...I just realized I didn't ask for her name."
While Midoriya was explaining, Todoroki stared at him with such warmth and a knowing gleam in his eyes. Midoriya caught his eye and Todoroki blushed.
"Wow...that's amazing, Midoriya. Everybody must be so proud of you. I'm proud of you."
Midoriya gasped softly and looked up into Todoroki's gentle eyes. When he smiled, Midoriya felt his knees go weak. It was a caring, soft smile and was accompanied by his gentle facial features. Midoriya didn't know how handsome he actually was until that moment. He managed to speak, but his voice came out shaky.
"T-Thanks Todoroki-kun."
Todoroki's POV
Todoroki went to look for Midoriya, as he wanted to come along with him to visit Midoriya's mother, Inko. He was walking toward the bus stop when he heard people cheering and smoke rising in the sky. He figured whatever was causing the commotion was handled because of the cheering. An ambulance was parked outside the corridor and people were surrounding it with cameras.
Must be a pro hero... Todoroki thought when all of a sudden, he saw a flash of green heading towards him and then the next thing he knew, he was sprawled on the ground. His eyes opened and he froze. Literally. Midoriya was lying on top of him, groaning.
"Midoriya?!" Todoroki lifted his head up, which stayed up for three seconds before slamming into his arm. "Ouch, Midoriya." This seemed to snap him out of his unconsciousness. Midoriya's eyes fluttered open and he threw himself off of Todoroki.
"Todoroki-kun?!"
Midoriya scooted like ten feet away from Todoroki which if, despite the current situation, would've made him chuckle. His head was turned away from Todoroki's, he was looking towards the smoke behind the corridor.
"Midoriya, what happened over there?" Todoroki asked.
Midoriya ran a hand through his silky, green hair. His face was flushed and there were sparks of green light buzzing around him. He explained what happened and Todoroki felt a pang of relief. He saved someone without getting hurt. He was amazing. Before he could stop himself, he blushed and the words came tumbling out of his mouth.
"Wow...that's amazing, Midoriya. Everybody must be so proud of you. I'm proud of you."
Todoroki noticed a sudden change in mood as Midoriya gasped and stared up into his eyes. They were so beautiful...he felt himself getting lost in his emerald colored stare. It caused him to smile, which he rarely did.
Midoriya's expression was thoughtful, as if he were thinking really deep about something. Todoroki noticed he was standing really close to Midoriya now. For what seemed like forever, they stared into each other eyes before he coughed and stepped back a little, much to Todoroki's disappointment.
"T-Thanks, Todoroki-kun." His voice was soft, like he was embarrassed to say it.
Todoroki nodded, "Let's go back to your mom's house, then?" This seemed to snap Midoriya back to reality.
"Oh yeah, I almost forgot that was what I was going to do anyway. I just hope we get back to UA in time." Todoroki and Midoriya took off for the bus stop, ignoring the people noticing his green-haired friend as the one who saved that girl.
