"Sunrises... Wow, I pity myself to live in such a... Erm...? Nevermind... I can't damn my own birth country after all," Aika stared at the sunrise. 'Blue, pink, purple, orange...' "I wonder if father even noticed I left..."
Meanwhile, in Plegia..

"Darling? May I come in? Father would like to speak to you." I knock on the door once more. "Aika, are you there?" I knock louder. 'She might be asleep, that's all...' "Alright, I'm coming in- AIKA!??" Where the hell was she?!! "It seems like father was right," I scoff. "She did escape."

"ACK! Er... I shouldn't have said that! It might bring bad luck... Well, let's stay on the positive for now..." I stared at the sunrise in awe. "It's also my first time on a boat, isn't it..." I had the slightest idea why I was so nervous.
...but then, something was amiss."...Aika... Heed my call," I gulp. "F-father! Hi...! Heheh... Heh," 'Ah, crap...'
"Why... Why did you leave me, my precious daughter? You know that I am always watching... My daughter." 'His daughter?!!...he never noticed me!'"I-It was for our people, father! Didn't you say we'd participate in the cam-"
"We also said not to provide any soldiers, Aika. If you're so ignorant, then why don't I tell you why?" I look to the side. "Hmpf. Fine, very well then. If you're so... 'heroic', then go right on ahead."
...he left. And somehow, the sunrise no longer gave me that warm feeling.
_____
'UGH. DAMN FATHER!' I use my forged steel sword and hit the practicing dummy. 'Damn being a Plegian royal!' I pull out a Levin Sword.
Flashback
'King Gangrel? Might I have a word?' He turned around. 'Yes, Aika?'
'Er... Actually, Fath- um... Validar would like a word with you.' He nodded. 'Very well. Be a good girl,' he patted my head, and walked off.I dug through his chest, and found just what I needed- a Levin Sword. 'This will come to great use.' I hide it within my robe, and walk off.
_____"Hmpf," I stared at my steel sword. "I can use this better... Sorry, steel sword!" I throw it aside, and start hitting the dummy. Besides, I'm a mage. I can use magic things much better.
_____
"Oh gods... I'm so tired," I collapse on the lush grass. "I haven't trained like... That before! I'm more used to... Well, I dunno- gods, I'm talking to myself..."
I hear a pair of footsteps approaching me. "Finished training for today, I presume? You've been up for quite awhile." I look up. "Oh, yeah! I've been up for a bit," I sit up, crossing my legs. "You know, you should rest for a bit. "
I roll my eyes. "What do you think I was doing, dummy?!! A lady needs her beauty rest, after all!"
"Er..."
"What?" I raise my brow at him. "Well... You know how you wanted to join the army, and... Er... Well, I guess I never really thought of you as... A lady."
'WHAT THE HELL DID HE JUST SAY ABOUT ME?!!' "...What... What did you just say?"
"ER! I...I, well... You know how you fight, right? Umm... And, you're... Gods, this is coming out all wrong!"
"GODS, CHROM! You're a royal, just like me! Surely, they must have taught you some fancy manners like me!" 'Gods, he's kinda dumb,' "Well, I'd quite say the same to you... You're kinda... Adventurous, and it doesn't really- er... I-I'm gonna stop talking now...- Aika? What are... What are you doing with that rock?"
I shrug. "Oh, I dunno... Maybe a good, swift throw to the head will help fix your eyesight!" I aim at him, but he runs away just on time. "HMPF! Such a meanie... Oh well... he does look like a mercenary hobo instead of a prince..."
(Haha, get the reference there?)
_____"Aika? Breakfast," I see a long, red haired girl- about a foot taller than me. Probably a pegasus knight. "Oh! Alright... Um..."
"Oh, right. I haven't introduced myself yet, have I? I'm Cordelia, a fellow shepherd. A pleasure to meet you- Chrom talks highly about you." I raise my brow. "...he does? Ahem, anyway, thanks, Cordelia!" I bring my book, and walk out the tent with her.
"Lalalala- oh, Aika, aren't you gonna eat?" I stare at my book- well, not literally 'stare', just read.
...at the table. While breakfast."Er, hello? Aika? AIKA!" Lissa slammed the table. "AHH!" I fall back, causing my chair aswell to fall.
...I sometimes don't know what the hell is wrong with me, haha... Ha."Aika, do you usually read at the table?" Lissa asks me, getting back in her seat. "...No, but it's sometimes- er... Or, it is a habit to bring books I'm reading with me," I put it down and stare at the food. Not for long, though. '...Are these... Umm? Well, it looks yummy... Like a... Ummm...'
I take the fork, and slice it slightly. 'Please don't be bitter, don't be bitter...'
"Nom..." 'OH GODS, THIS IS REALLY GOOD!! It's sweet, too!' "You like it?" I nod to Lissa. "Yeah!"
_____Port Ferox
"Ready for a ride, boy?" I saw a big, tall man with an eyepatch over his right eye (?) approach Chrom- about two feet taller than me. I hide behind Tharja, like a little kid. "Oaf, you're scaring the little girl..."
"I-I'm not little!" I stand taller, and slightly back away from Tharja.
The blonde haired one gets to my height. "Who are you? You look like you're Plegian..."
"...I am... But, I'm not as jerky as them. I'm nice!"
"How old are y-"
"I'm 18. I'm turning 19 in three weeks." They nodded. "Well, welcome aboard, kid. I'm Basilio, and this is Flavia."
_____"...Umm, excuse me, Chrom?" He looked up from his book. "Er... Yes, Aika?"
"Where exactly are we going?" I've never been on a boat, and I've never been at sea. I've been neurotic about both ever since childhood.
"We're going to Valm, remember?"
"Oh! Right... But didn't you say something about encountering Valmese ships on the way ther-""M'lord! Valmese ships are approaching right this moment."
"Oh! Aika, this is your first battle... You better pair up with me just in case, alright?" I nod. "Right!"
We run toward the deck, seeing three fleets of Valmese ships approaching us, about 50 feet away.
'I've never been this scared before... I heard they're experienced soldiers!
Well, if there's anything we fear, it's fear itself...'"Aika, be prepared for anything. Keep in mind: swords best axes, axes best lances, and lances best swords-"
"I know, sir... I can do this."
______
"Three ships, with armed, experienced soldiers against one? Either they're very brave, or very stupid... No matter. The sea will be their final resting place before the day is over."
