" One is never afraid of the unknown, one is afraid of the known coming to an end. "

Throughout the entire hour of lunch, my friends were constantly teasing me about Paxley. Simple things such as when will we date? Get married? Have sex? Have kids?
It was complete nonsense and made absolutely no sense because I do not like him at all.

He is an annoying little asshole.

We were walking out of the cafeteria until Odette touched my arm, "Lesley, I need to talk to you," She called,

"We'll catch up with you guys." I said and Odette pulled me aside,

Hylos shrugged and they went to the
Theatre where the Ceremony was going
to begin. The "Ceremony" is when all the
teams are announced and to be honest, it takes forever. We're announced at the end so we have time to spare.

"I saw something, before you came back from flirting at lunch..." Odette said,

"What do you mean?" I asked,

"I went to throw something out and s-saw something."

"Saw what?"

"I saw Professor Diggie, h-he came out of his office and he had some kind of black aura all around him? He was giggling creepily too." Odette said,

Oh come on.
"Are you sure you aren't just seeing things? Didn't you say you were going to get glasses?"

"No, I swear something is wrong." She shook her head, "He looked like he was fucking possessed."

The moment Odette swore, that meant she
had to be telling the truth, despite it being hard to believe.

"I don't know, you might be seeing things."
I shrugged,

"Still,I took a photo, look." Odette showed me her phone.

It was exactly what she said it was; Professor Diggie with a black aura and what appeared to be some kind of purple darkness around his eyes.

"Well that's fucking creepy." I pushed her phone away from me,

"Exactly!"

"But Odette, I still don't think--"

"Let's go to his office!!" Odette cut me off and she grabbed onto my arm, forcing me to go with her to a potential death trap.

"What?! Do you want to die?" I asked,

"No, but we have to see! We go to this school so we can become heroes who'll save the day, right? Wasn't that what you said last year?"

I sighed, she wasn't wrong.

"Let's go!" Odette dragged me to the office,

I slowly opened the door, Odette jumped by the loud cream it made.

It was empty in here.
