"I'm happy you're in good hands." She said as she glanced my way. Sabrina nodded and hugged up close to me. I blushed.
I mean, it's not the first time she's done things out of nowhere, but it was just- difficult to respond to and I probably came off as suspicious or annoyed because soon after doing it, she pulled away.
"Yeah, no doubt. What the fuck is this place?"
"Language. Just follow me." Bane said. I made it known that I didn't want Sabrina to leave my side. Not for the pictures, the testing of my blood and Bella's, the rape kit. None of that.
The only time I had alone time from her was when I got showered and even then, she was standing outside the door talking to me.
By the end of my shower, the tests had came back with Cole's name all over it. Literally his DNA was all over my clothes and matched my daughters blood.
He was her dad and that was the hardest pill to swallow. Just to know he'd done it the first time and got away with it made me angry for trusting him or even myself for being so naive around him. I could have stopped it. I could hav-
"You okay?" Sabrina asked me as I sat and looked down at the test in my hands as we drove to our destination. Hoping that the results would change just by me blinking.
It never did. It wasn't going to. Cole had done something unforgivable. Twice. I had to be ghe one to stop it from happening without the help of the police.
"Just thinking about this plan. Where did you say I was meeting him?" I asked as I turned to her from beside me. She had my phone all day going through it for no apparent reason except for the simple fact that I gave her permission to text him for me.
"Dairy Queen up on Pines Rd. It's public and open."
"Okay, cool. You coming right?"
"You keep asking me that like I'm gonna leave you. Yeah, I'm coming." She said nudging me. I looked in her eyes and smiled. Something about them seemed different. She was happy, but it didn't quite reach her eyes.
"What's wrong?"
"Nothing. I'm just thinking."
"Nah, it's not that."
"What you mean? How you gon tell me what's going on in my head?" She asked me defensively. I chuckled and shook my head.
"You right. My bad, but that still don't change the fact that something's wrong. You got this ugly look on your face like somebody told you something crazy." I said making a point. She sighed and shook her head at me before looking ahead of us as we slowed down at a stoplight. I looked up at what she was looking at. Which was my dad. She'd been doing that glancing his way and frowning up when she didn't think I would notice, but I didn't tell her that.
"I'm jus- i-I'll tell you inside." She shut up and sat back against me quietly as we began to drive again, taking my hand into hers in the process. Sooner or later, we both sat up and got out of my dads car.
"Hey, c'mere." He said to me. I told Sabrina to go in and wait for me. She gave me a cute little smile and left inside with Bella.
"You know I'll be out here if you need some muscle support." He said to me before smiling big. I smiled back and reached down to hug him.
"Thanks Dad. I love you Dad." I said to him turning away the moment my voice betrayed me.
"Lemme see you one more time Yel."
"I'm good Dad." I said walking away.
"You still gotta choice Yel. You can still get the baby ado-"
