"I'm not understanding." I said to him as we stood in the bathroom mirror looking back and forward at each other.
"You don't remember because your brain choose not to remember that much. Maybe you saw his face when he did that to you, but when you try... to remember it now, everything is blurry. Even his face." He explained to me as he pulled my dreads back into a bun. I shook my head and pulled it out of the bun with ease.
"Well, I remember his eyes. They're green with dark green specks in them. Yours are blue with green rimmed specks." I said to him as I looked at him in the mirror. He nodded.
"They're from our mom. She has blonde hair. He got his eye color from our dad." I said to him. I scrunched up my face.
"What about your hair?" I asked him curiously. He thought about it.
"I don't know. Our dad's hair is dark brown almost jet black. Maybe it's just the gene." He said to me. I nodded in understanding.
"Bella is a crazy example of genes. I'm just glad she doesn't have red or orange hair." I chuckled. He scoffed.
"I can't believe you really wanna cut these off." He said playing in my hair. I shrugged.
"Something new." I said taking the scissors to my hair. I cut it halfway to my shoulders and got him to help me comb them out while I sat conditioner in my hair. Took about 3 and a half hours, but they were out and my hair was dread free.
I turned around and looked at Cody. He never not once took his eyes off of me. "You look good either way." He complemented.
"Thank you." I turned back around and let him continue to play in my hair. He wasn't to hard or too soft with it and I was beginning to fall asleep on his lap. He was sitting on the couch while I was leaning against him laying across the couch.
"How long did it take for them to grow out?" He asked interrupting my sleep. I sighed.
"Uh, about 2 and half years. I started them when I got pregnant with Bella. Ugh, this feels so good" I sighed to him as he massaged my scalp. He stopped and I had to look up at him. "What?" I asked.
"N-nothing. You're just cute." He shrugged. I chuckled.
"I'm alright looking. My mom said I should try with you." I said changing the subject. He began massaging my hair again.
"With what?"
"Getting over my fears with your brother I guess. She wants me to forgive him through you. Since you're both twins and I can be a bitch to you." I said turning over in his lap to look up at him. He shook his head.
"I blame myself too. More than anything after I found out about Bella being his. I can kinda understand where you're coming from. I don't blame -" I grabbed his hand like I had earlier and let him feel. He looked down interested.
"Why he stop?" He asked.
"Maybe because you stopped talking." I pointed out.
"Good point. Anyways, like you can be mad at me however much you want, but just don't push me away. Please? He's goofy." He chuckled. I smiled and looked up at him in his eyes.
"I'll try not to. If I am, just remember why and try to tell me to take deep breaths. If that doesn't work, just leave the room. Okay?" He nodded and lifted up away from me. Then fixed the couch cover around the both of us before settling down behind me.
"You sure you don't want to sleep in your bed?" He asked me as I shut my eyes.
"Shut up." I said plainly.
