The final bell rang for school and I made a beeline for my locker hoping I wouldn't get noticed by anymore people.
As soon as I got it open a random hand slapped it shut again.
I turned to Bee laughing at my misery, she knows how much I hate these stupid lockers.
" Soo how's it going partner ? Make any friends today ?" She asked swaying on her tippy toes.
I popped back open the locker and shoved the rest of my books in my backpack then slapped it shut.
" I can't really say friend yet, how about close acquaintance until further notice ?" I said as we trailed among the kids walking out the door.
" You guys are already on second base aren't you !? Hassan you sly dog !" She said nudging my arm making me laugh.
" No no nothing like that. He did want me to meet him by the fountain over there when school ended though."
" So what are doing walking with me !? Go !" She yelled eagerly pushing me.
" And leave my baby sister to walk all by her lonesome ? Now what kind of big brother would I be ?" I said giving her an evil grin.
" Hassan...picture this, it's a bright morning the birds are chirping and when you go to see yourself in the mirror you have no hair. Not just on your head but your eyebrows and eyelashes have been perfectly waxed and cut off. I don't think you want that do you ?"
I laughed at her threat.
" I'm only teasing, you're a big girl I know you can handle yourself, just keep your phone on alright ?"Bee already started her walk as she yelled out
" Alright mom ! I know the rules of stranger danger."I sighed smiling.
" Bye Bee I love you be safe !" I called after her.
She responded by holding her hand up in a half heart which I did back with my other hand even though she couldn't see it.
That was our thing ever since we were little. She has the left half of the heart and I have the right. I know it's cheesy but I'm pretty sure she stole it from Pinterest and then she just made it ours ever since.
I continued to watch as she safely crossed the street and out of sight.
" BOO !"
I tensed as the loud shout in my ear startled me.
I turned around and looked up to Laurence.
When we were sitting down at lunch I could of swore we were the same height but now fully upright and he's casting shadows over me.
" How tall are you !?" I said examining his height still.
" six foot two, I hit a growth spurt like last year and peaked here." He said walking to the fountain.
I followed him staring at the back of his shirt as the Fall breeze attacked the leaves on the ground.
He sat down on the fountains second stair while I sat on the third.
" Feel better now that your taller than me ?" He laughed turning to look at me.
" Hey ! Five ten is a normal height ! I'm just two off six feet." I said giggling with him.
His smile was so cheerful and his laugh was soft. If I wasn't already, I knew there definitely had to be a blush on my freckled cheeks.
" We never got to finish our conversation at lunch, I wanted to ask why you moved here ?" He said rolling a hand through his hair.
" My dad got a better job opportunity so he took it. Nothing to dramatic if that's what you were hoping for." I responded.
He nodded his head slowly raising his eyebrow.
" I came here around the end of tenth grade."I slanted my brows confused.
" You didn't grow up here ?"" Nahh it's a...complicated story of why I moved. But I was born and raised in Tennessee." He said.
Just then I remembered the story Charolette was telling me about how his brother is a relentless murderer and I got chills through my body.
" Are you cold ?" He asked.
" Yeah just a little bit." I said nervously smiling.
He pulled off his navy blue hoodie causing it to grab at his shirt underneath revealing a tight and chiseled stomach.
He held it out to me as he patted down his shirt.
" Oh no it's fine I can't take your hoodie ! You'll need it again I'm sure." I said politely declining his offer.
" Well then I guess that gives me an excuse to come over one day." He said throwing it at me.
He was slick.
I didn't know if I was messing with a cunning bad boy and I was gunna be one of his many victims or if I was falling for what could be my first boyfriend.
I took it and put it over my head.
The smell of fresh lavender detergent was accompanied by his cologne as the hoodie slipped onto my body.
" Hey I have question for you..." he asked with his voice going deeper.
" Ask away." I said feeling anxiety creep along my back.
" Do-
*Beep Beep*
A red vintage car pulled up with a darkened silhouette in the drivers seat.
Laurence looked and gave a hand signal to it then glanced back at me.
" That's my brother, I'll ask you tomorrow during second period ?"
" We have second period together ? I mean of course ! That's fine with me."
He held out his fist to me in the air.
" Cool, then I'll see you tomorrow ?"" Where else would I be ?" I said giving him a fist bump.
He smiled then turned and walked to his car.
Before pulling off I seen the figure in the drivers seat look in my direction then pull off.
Oh shit...
What just happened !?
